Roger Dubuis kicked off its “Year of the Diva” at SIHH 2016, with new product releases almost solely restricted to its Velvet collection of haute horlogerie ladies’ watches. Here's another good reason to ask before you buy! I was looking at a very special vintage Omega, one that would be a centerpiece in my collection. It looked legit on first glance - case, crown, markers, logo, etc. I snapped a couple pictures and went to the think tank for more opinions:Authenticity checkNow, I'm no slouch when it comes to picking out suspicious Omegas - but as you can see my doubts were confirmed as this dial got picked apart. As much as I'd love to add a Seamaster XVI Melbourne Olympic Commemorative to my box, there's NO WAY I'm forking over that kind of cash without being 100% sure of it. There wasn't a good enough picture in my Omega book to be positive so I posed it to the Ω collective and it didn't take long.So you can see that even the experienced get by with a little help from their friends. I'm disappointed, but calling this one a success since a wad of cash is still in my pocket.(...and it helps ease the pain knowing I have another nice vintage piec
