H. Moser Perpetual 1 Takes Top Award
H. Moser’s Perpetual 1 collected one of Germany’s most prestigious awards when more than 10,000 enthusiasts voted it the winner of the Goldene Unruh (Golden Balance) in the category for watches priced above 25,000 euros. The award is presented by WatchTime’s sister publication Uhren Magazin in partnership with the popular German magazine Focus. Ten watches in each of 5 price categories are presented and the winners are selected by popular vote by readers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Lew & Huey Riccardo Review
Not too long ago, we introduced you to the Lew & Huey Riccardo. At that point, the brand was trying to raise money via kickstarter to get the watch off the ground, which clearly was successful. Chris Vail, the brand's founder, did an excellent job of building community support via WUS and various blog posts, creating a following before the watches were ever even made. Now, the Riccardo is practically sold out and people are awaiting his next watches, the Acionna and Spectre.There were a few very exciting things about the Riccardo, so we were quite happy to have the chance to give it a review. To start, it's an automatic chronograph that costs $550 thanks to the Seagull ST1940 movement inside. We love it when brands takes risks, and in the Swiss and Japanese movement dominated watch-o-sphere, using a Chinese made chronograph is a bit of bold move, especially for a first watch. Omega Deville Symbol still worth it?
I have an Omega Deville Symbol watch with an 18k/stainless watchband. I purchased the watch around 1992 (if I remember correctly) and wore it for about about a total of 8 years. (When the battery goes dead I tend to procrastinate about getting it replaced). The last time I had the battery replaced it didn't seem to keep very good time. I chalked this up to a bad battery but I read on this site somewhere that quartz movements last about 20 years.I want to send the watch somewhere reputable to find out if it needs just a battery or if the whole movement needs replaced. If it does need replaced, how much should it cost? Is the symbol worth fixing? Are there any watch repair companies you recommend?I still like the watch because it is sort of "anti-Rolex" (not bulky with no visual clutter) and it is in good shape cosmetically. I believe I saw one like mine sell for $400 on ebay but it had the controversial Ankh watch face. Mine has just a plain white watch face. Any advice would be greatly

Most robust automatic to get?
Hello Watch Talk!This is my first post and I hope its not a too-broad or annoying subject. I've only owned quartz watches and digitals in my life: A Swiss Army Victorinox officers that lasted 12 years and now has, according to the watchmaker, a short circuit or something as it drains a new battery in a week. A Swatch chronograph which runs fine but I don't really like. Several timexes, one which is 15 years old and still going strong. My latest acquisition is a 1997 stainless steel round face Cartier from my father, he passed away last week. It is a beautiful piece but I wouldn't want to wear it so much for fear of losing it. Basically I want to switch to automatic, I know they lose more time than quartz and recquire more maintenance, but as everyone else I appreciate the mechanical wonder that is an automatic. I'm looking for the most robust, well made, least maintenance required, most accurate automatic that isn't the size of a discman. I don't care if its vintage or new, just that i

AP AD Thoughts - Manfredi
Hi all, was wondering if anyone in the New York or CT area has dealt with Manfredi in Greenwich, and can speak about the experience. I have spoken to them on the phone and dropped in the store a few times, but never have been seriously looking, just browsing. They have always been very nice and knowledgeable, much more so than most ADs, and never pushy. Whenever I buy it is basically down to them versus the boutique, unless someone has another AD in that area that deals APs who they have had a favorable experience with. Any thoughts on Manfredi, and buying from them, where there would most likely be some sort of discount, versus the boutique where no price accommodations can be made, but they do come with a 5 year warranty versus the standard 3 year.
