I thought I would put this out there for all you Longines-lovers. From a 1933 edition of "L"Aeronautiqe" magazine, France.1933 longines angle-hour l'aeronautiqueP1.jpg1933 longines angle-hour l'aeronautique.jpg
My first attempt to post photos, so bear with me. The above photos are of a Hamilton StormKing IV Military that came in last month. I bought it on the ¡°Bay¡± as a ¡°Buy It Now¡± listing. The photos have been taken by Timewise, who has been servicing it and cleaning it up for me. Thanks to him, this watch looks great and operates fantastically!!! For those who can provide more information, please do. There does not seem to be a lot written about this model. For a company like Hamilton, which worshipped standardization, the StormKing IV Military was an odd watch. It operates on a 24 hour cycle. In other words the hour hand circles the dial only once in 24 hours. The watch was apparently available from 1957 to about 1961. As can be seen, it uses a 735 grade movement, which has been modified by changing out the hour gear to a larger one that slows down the speed of the hour hand. Oddly, another gear (see arrow) has been added to speed up the second hand to a regular 60-second cycl

I was scanning eBay and came across this:cgi.ebay/LONGINES-CONQUES...3A1%7C294%3A50Look at the dial on that watch - "Conquest" is crooked for crying out loud! The SWISS MADE (besides being above the ring instead of below it) does not even follow the curve correctly. There's so much wrong, and Longines would NEVER let anything with this poor workmanship out of the plant. This seller really has gaul to say it's an original dial. That date window was one of the options in that series. Everything else appears okay on the case, but the crown is obviously a replacement (and an awkward one at that) and I'm not 100% sure of the hands.Pic from the listing (in case it gets removed or deleted after it ends):Pic from mine for comparison:
