Couple of strap changes
In anticipation of the warmer months, I thought it would be a good idea to purchase some stainless steel bracelets to replace my nice leather straps that I normally use for my vintage Seamaster and Cosmic. I contacted Scott from "Times of Plenty", and to say that the communication and subsequent transaction was great is an understatement, so a big "Thank You" to him first and foremost. What I decided was that I wanted mesh look for the Seamaster (which I originally saw on another forum) and something similar to the 'blocks of bricks' bracelet for the Cosmic. The vintage mesh that I chose is a "hair-puller" that doesn't pull a single hair, and a pretty good match for the original that came with the chronometer-grade version of my Seamaster:The brick-style bracelet for the Cosmic is really a great match as well:So, until I can find a good deal on the OEM versions that came with the watches (or BoR), I will proudly wear these vintage bracelets in their stead.

Dear friends and WTF members, I have a huge request that might sound a little stupid around here given the importance this watch has all over omega forums. But I have and feel the need to call out for education from your part, as I am fairly new to the whole Omega world. The watch in question: The Speedmaster! I know all about the history behind it. Sometimes I feel that my vintage watch collection is more of a dog pound, compared to the rare breeds and grand champion show watches I see here. I hope you don't mind if I take up the forum bandwidth with some of my loved rescue watches from time to time. I think I'm doing it not to show off but to prove to myself and maybe other beginners that you don't need to start out in this hobby by collecting perfect multi-hundred dollar examples. I have many watches that I love to wear and keep running that show their hard long history in all of their scratches and warts. They have proved they were used and useful tools by their appearance and connect me to the people that wore them every day and the people that built them with such care that they still work today. Here is a Waltham 6/0-c that I can't bear to part out. It came to me with a lug bent so badly that the back wouldn't stay on. The dial was stained. Undecided need advice
Got a TT DJ41 last July that I love. Wear it all the time, when I got it from my AD I told him to put me on the lost for the Daytona which has always been my grail. Today the ad said still not received anything, so I'm not sure how long it will take to get one. (What's the average time you guys got urs after putting ur name.) I can only wait or, get a BNIB sub date for 8k or a used 116520 for 10k
