Jaeger LeCoultre Q1898720 wrist watches news:
Sponsored PostWhat makes a watch ¡®luxury¡¯? Is it any timepiece with a significant price tag? UK watch retailer Page and Cooper think not.Managing Director, Jonathan Bordell, founded Page and Cooper on the belief that a luxury timepiece is one of quality and exclusivity, rather than clever marketing and price.Searching far and wide, Jonathan has made it his personal mission to source watches from small scale, independent companies. The likes of which are still operating using age old techniques and methods of manufacture to create well-designed, beautifully made, and often very rare watches.Jonathan has been the catalyst for exposing watches that reveal extraordinary stories and heritage. The latest addition to the Page and Cooper brand are German watchmakers Laco. Established way back in 1925, Laco started out life encasing Swiss movements into German engineered cases.Laco were responsible for manufacturing legendary pilot watches during the 1940s, praised for their precision and reliab
The hunter style model 1942 was the third 6/0 sized series of movements made by Waltham It was produced after the hunter style 1898 and the open face style 1912 models which had been in production for over 15 years. I don't really understand the 1942 designation as production started in 1934. The last 1942s were produced in 1950.This is the movement that got me started. It’s the Waltham 6/0 ‘42 that was made during WWII for A-11 spec military watches. They are 16 jewel movements with the center second complication and hacking function. Then I found later versions of the center second movement. The 6/0 B with 16 jewels. The 6/0 C with 16 jewels. And the 6/0 D which added a 17th jewel at the top of the center wheel. At the same time, Waltham produced a matching series of movements with the more common sub seconds configuration. The only thing of note is the higher jewel count for each corresponding model.I have examples of the 6/0 B with 17 jewels. The 6/0 C with 17 jewels. And fi
This new maker is trying to start a watch company with pre ordersIt sounds and smells like the Other Bronze dealI had skin in the game on the other one, and was lucky to get $$ backI personally helped several folks get thiers backI also know first hand the Other Guy took a ton of pre orders from Non WIS folksthat are totally outta the loop an otta $$$The Other Guy STILL has not filled his obligations of watches, correct parts and refundsI ran this post past a mod and they are cool w/ itIMHO : taking pre orders w/ no busines plan, no $ in bank, selling "at cost" and ignoringadmin costs, shipping costs, production delays, warranty issues is a Train Wreck ready to happenI find it strange on another site that had hundreds of pages w/ the last Cluster, that folks have forgottenthe lessons learned and are throwing money at a brand new guy, no watch manufacturing experiance, that said one day, "Hey, cool i will start a watch companyand use other folks money to do it, and i will sort it out as
I've seen ads for a brand I never heard of before called DeHaviland. They apparently make only one model, A gray or blue faced Auto with a sharp looking black rubber strap. No idea about the price. Anyone know them?
I don't remember ever seeing any incoming post here for an AP other than RO or ROO, does anybody buy them or is it just on this forum the members like only sport models from AP?Who here has an AP other than these? Would be nice to see some pics if anyone has one.
