Daniel Roth Endurer Chronosprint Watch
This is probably the nicest Daniel Roth watch I know of, which is saying a lot since Daniel Roth watches are usually REALLY NICE. No, it isn't the fanciest, or most complex watch - and to a large degree the watch is a total contradiction. For example, the name "Chronosprint" makes you think of measuring quick short times, when in reality, it is just the opposite with this self described chronograph for measuring longer measurements of time (because it does not count the seconds). Only hours and minutes are measures in the subsidiary dial with two hands that replicates the chronograph look of some modern Patek Philippe chronograph watches, along with a few other makes. The dial that looks like a smaller watch face has one hand to measure minutes (60), and another to measure hours (12). Daniel Roth describes this complication as a ¡°simple but effective¡± feature of the watch. The movement is exclusive to this Endurer Chronosprint, and is the DR 1306 automatic mechanical calibre. First watch purchase - TAG vs. Longines
Purchasing my first mid-range automatic watch, and deciding between a TAG carrera dual time (CARRERA Calibre 7 Twin Time Automatic Watch 41 mm Silver Alligator skin bracelet | TAG Heuer) and the Longines master chrono (The Longines Master Collection - Longines - L2.669.4.78.3).The only other watch I own is black & black, and as such I use it only for black tie events. Looking for a versatile second piece, and my personal opinion is the TAG is slightly more versatile than the Longines given the basic vs. chrono complications. My slight concerns are the worse water resistance on the Longines and I've heard the TAG uses a plastic movement holder. Any help you guys could give is appreciated.-Rob
