Oris has lousy resale value - true??
I've just read in another forum that Oris is right up there as a watch that depreciates significantly after purchase. Admittedly there was no supporting evidence given, so it's no more than one man's opinion.But I'm curious, have any of you experienced this? Is Oris any better/worse than other brands?? Tag Heuer was also mentioned as a fast 'depreciator' - this one I can understand. Tag have been positioning themselves as a prestige brand for a few years now, and charging high prices (IMHO) to encourage a perception of high quality ("It costs a lot so it must be good, right...?"). This is not Tag bashing, I own one (okay, it's an old one), and I love some of their models - the Carrera is on my permanent 'will own one day' list.But I just don't see Oris in the same way. I currently have a Ceramic Sub that I bought brand new in early 2014. Lately I've been feeling I need a change and I'm being pulled towards an Explorer II 216570.A pre-owned dealer has offered a trade for my Sub + ��400 from me for a full set mid-2017 Explorer II.Would this be considered a fair trade?Am I mad even considering letting the Sub go? One thing I feel I should add is that I no longer have the box and warranty card for my watch. We had a break in a few years back, the B and P were taken then.I hope I haven't broken any forum rules by asking this question.

I'm relatively new to the forum and definitely new to Rolex (proud owner of a Hulk). I've become rather intrigued to understand what is on the horizon from the company. From what I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong), any new models are annually revealed to the world at Baselworld. Does Rolex offer pre-Baselworld announcements of new models or are they completely hush-hush until the BW conference? For example, how long before last year's event did people know about the SS SkyDweller or the DaytonaC the year before? Are there years where there are no changes at all?Thanks.
