Invicta 11179 wrist watches news:
Here at w&w, we do a poor job of hiding our enthusiasm for Nomos Glashuette. They are one of those brands that the mere mention of always gets our hearts pounding. Their watches are perfect little expressions of what accessible luxury ought to be. Unique, finely finished and restrained timepieces with in-house movements at obtainable prices. What more could you ask for?At Basel World 2013, Nomos unveiled a handful of things, one of which was a new, larger sized Orion. The Orion watches are a staple of the Nomos line up; a classic, modest design with a vintage air that they have offered for many years. Unlike their more often spoken about Tangentes or Tangomats, the Orions have smooth flowing curves that emphasize their incredibly thin profiles, making effortlessly elegant and easy to wear watches. Up until this year, they were available in 35 and 33mm cases, which are quite small by today's standards. The new Orion 38 added a needed larger size for a more contemporary presence, esp
My brother found this Benrus when he was an HVAC installer almost 20 years ago (I apologize for the bad photo). He gave it to me and it's been in an old cigar box ever since. I don't know much about this brand and was interested in finding out if anyone knows anything about it? The serial number is 865296 and it's 10k gold filled and is marked, "Waterproof/Shock Proof/Dustproof). I would guess it's from the 1940's but I'm not sure. From the looks of the case, it was dropped down the heating ducts early in it's life (it's in very good shape) but I have no idea about the movement. I can't figure out how to open it up there are no tabs or notches in the back to pry it. I haven't decided if I'm going to refurbish it or offer it for trade/sale. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
I had never really liked Patek. As a matter of fact, I never even really looked at the models that they offered, much less look at them at ADs or read the PP forums. For the most part I looked at Pateks as the type of watch that was best for older people. Those who found a REAL watch like a Rolex too heavy. Then one day while reading through a watch magazine, I noticed an ad for the 5960. I think it was the one were a man is showing his son the workings of a motorcycle engine. His left sleeve was pulled back just enough to reveal the 5960, and there was an image of the 5960 at the bottom of the page. That single ad set my heart racing. Everything about the watch just jumped out at me. From the round mushroom like chrono pushers, the display windows, the chrono counter and the way Patek incorporated just little red and blue. It looked so clean and modern, yet the case shape, and pushers looked very classic. Never had a watch made sutch an impression on me. I had seen many good looking wa
Hey all,Just wanted a few expert opinions on the Omega Co-Axial. I have had many differeing opinions on why this movement is better and worse and have heard of the problems with the initial run... but what do you think? I know this movement is already replacing the old reliable in a few Omega lines and in turn increasing their prices dramatically! So ho many out there own one and what is your review? Is it really worth the $$$???
Curious if the strap is brown or black? Also are the pushers stiffer? Tempting piece for sure...luring me back into a 5164 ownership...
