More than 100 classic and antique boats and over 5,000 visitors gathered at one of the world¡¯s best known clear mountain lakes for the 39th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d¡¯Elegance. The event showcases the best vintage wood boats from North America, which compete for top honors in 13 classes. The overall winner was a 1939 Gar Wood. The 19 foot runabout with a 103 horsepower 6 cylinder Chrysler engine is owned by Jonathan and Jean Trevillyan of Acton, CA. The 1939 Gar Wood was awarded the best Marque Class and Best Overall Boat in Show. New Arrival: Elgin, 17 Jewels, case 9523
I picked this one up for the knurled case.First me do an eBay rant. The seller advertised this as had being serviced. Long ago, I learned to ignore that in eBay listings, but this guy seemed emphasize it. So the watch came filthy dirty. If it has been serviced, isn't cleaning the case part of the deal?The crystal wasn't buffed out.And the topper. I think by servicing, he meant that he just doused the movement in oil. There was so much oil, the watch wouldn't run. I basically had to dry it off to get the watch running.Besides that, it is in decent shape and the case, once cleaned, shine up to a show a brilliant gold plating. There is just a bit of brassing on the lugs on the underside. Seems to keep great time.The watch face is a bit small for my taste, but I find the case intriguing enough to overcome that hesitation.

Hey guys,Which watch or watches are catching your attention at this time? It doenst mean you are going to buy them right away but the ones that make you look a second time or more.I am checking out the Seiko SRP029K1 (dont have any photos of it) but the best photo I have seen of this model through Google image belongs to Ultramanpat from Singapore. Pat, if you are reading this, nice shot of a nice watch.I am also checking out Seiko SARB049 which is a new model launched in Japan recently. Very cool watch. The Orient Star WZ0021EJ is another attraction too.There are a few others that I have been eyeing for a while but I guess I havent really felt the tugging. Do you have similar experience? I'll try to get permission from photo owners to post the photos of the watches I'm eyeing here.Cheers!
