One can appreciate that.Once upon a time, Rolexes had sort of an esoteric following. Nowadays they seem to fall into the same mundane category as BMWs, Nikon cameras and Martin guitars, items once respected for what they were but now relegated to upwardly-mobile consumerism and braggadocio.Perhaps this is the curse of anything well-made and expensive. Eventually they become mainstream and potentially tacky (especially to the old-timers who simply appreciated them per se).

First Patek... completely smitten.
Received my first Patek two weeks ago and I am completely in love with the watch.This has long been a true grail watch for me ever since I saw one in person 8 years ago and it was always out of budget and out of mind until this year at SIHH when they announce it was going to be discontinued. With that knowledge in mind I quickly looked at my collection to see what I can consolidate, in the end two APs and a Panerai were sacrificed to pave way for the Patek... I could not be happier. Just a quick and dirty cell phone shot, I will try and take pictures when I get proper camera time with her over the weekend. Have a great weekend boys and girls.
