Invicta 16741 wrist watches news:
Sorry if this is in the wrong section (or if I skipped any newbie rituals that should have happened before my first post).I'm relatively new to collecting watches, but I've already managed to gather a few from the teens through the fifties. Some are in great shape...some could use a little TLC.Eventually I might get to the point of doing my own cleaning/servicing (already have a little bag of junkers set aside for practice!), but right now it would be nice to find someone halfway local to service a few of them for me.The problem: I have no idea where to go!If anyone has experience with someone in/around Kansas City that does quality work on older watches, I'd appreciate your input.
Just saw this in the newsletter today...thought I'd share:Special Police Force SeriesSinn has long been the watchmaker of choice for a number of official German federal, state and local divisions of law enforcement agencies, protection units and military squadrons and the new Sinn 757 Fliegerstaffel joins this elite group. This watch was created for the German Bayern Polizeihubschrauberstaffel, or the German Police Helicopter Squadron in Bavaria. This elite special squadron is part of the Bavarian Riot Police, and employs approximately 100 well trained special team members. This team uses the Eurocopter EC 135 P2 which are based in the suburbs of Munich. The squadron approached Sinn to create a special watch for the use of their officers, and the result is the new Sinn 757 Fliegerstaffel. Only 30 pieces of these watches have been allocated to North America.Watch ConstructionThis watch is based upon the Sinn 757 chronograph and is fully Tegimented.Standard steel used by most watch compani
Hi all, good news for those who want a 5990, it seems to be easily available as I am looking on grey dealer sites, DavidSW has one, as well as a great grey dealer friend of mine for people living in Europe, Rivierawatch, for 57K in US$ or 50K in euros for the one in Europe. So if 2 grey dealer sites have it in unworn condition I think it's not so hard to get, either through an AD or through a grey dealer, and these two are in the best I know of.In any case it really looks nice in pics, would love to see one in real, my friend isn't in Paris unfortunately¡I wouldn't put it on my 2nd or 3rd choice for a Patek, those would be 5167R and 5726, strap or bracelet, but it is really cool.So the goal of this thread was to make people who wanted it get one since it's very easy, and hoping to get pics very soon.
Since I will get my 5712 monday, should have been today but nothing, UPS tracking says monday, big disappointment lol, I didn't want to ask before of the price of servicing, thinking that the astronomical price may stop me from buying. Now that my money is in the company's bank account and the watch inbound, what is the price for the normal 5 year servicing, with nothing wrong with the watch, and with no polishing (don't know with PP but with Rolex it's automatic, you have to refuse the polishing. So basically, open the movement, take it apart, oil it, maybe change a few parts a little worn out and put it back together. Are we talking 1000$, 1500$, or more?Am expecting around 1200$, hope I have it right, and it's not 2000$Thanks for telling me the bad news And how is the service? Heard excellent, some brands like Panerai the servicing is horrible, many owners get their watch back scratched, badly repaired, and they are not very polite, the big difference between the Panerai salon on Paris
Finally get to post a well look what happened on the way to the AD story! After many years with my 14060M i decided it was time to try something new so it went up for sale and found a new home. I've spent days trying to figure out what's next and nothing really stood out to me when compared to the crisp two liner sub. It's the quintessential everyday watch. Sometimes less is more! With the SS shortage everywhere I knew even trying an AD would be futile. Out of the three main AD's all had the air king and milgauss but it didn't really sing to me. Asking for a sub or GMT almost got me laughed at in one of them. I was told they've seen two in the last two months. This is all in Scottsdale btw...After almost getting laughed at asking for a GMT (and an aquanaut) and being told having established history would help I booked it over to a lunch spot and decided to try an AD that I knew had subs in the past couple months.Sure enough nothing in the display counter and after telling my sub (sob) st
