Zenith 51.2112.400/01.C498 wrist watches news:
watches-dealer?received?a note from Rolex today on the appointment of a new brand CEO. The news release from Rolex was a scant, one line document on official letterhead that explained Jean-Frederic Dufour would be appointed as the CEO of Rolex SA in Geneva. Mr. Dufour would be replacing Gian Riccardo Marini. Many in the watch industry are familiar with Jean-Frederic Dufour as the CEO of Zenith watches, a position he will now be leaving. Zenith is part of LVMH, and after a successful time there since 2009, he is making the ultimate trip up the ladder to being in a top leadership position at Rolex.Mr. Dufour is a known friend and proteg¨¦ of the famed Jean-Claude Biver, former CEO of Hublot, who continues to retain a position of influence at the brand and who now has a more senior role guiding the watch brand divisions of LVMH (which also includes Zenith and TAG Heuer, among others). Mr. Biver greatly assisted Mr. Dufour when he started at Zenith and most agree that their combined work has

As between 5970G and 5970J, which do you prefer and why?A few personal thoughts:1. 5970J appears to have been the least produced having been in production for only 1 year and with approx. 450 produced vs. approx. 850 of the 5970G.2. Yellow gold feels more vintage and timeless. White gold is more versatile and may stand the test of time better. 3. Yellow gold might have more character as opposed to white gold. That draws you to it?Let me explain what I mean. I never used to like the look of them and Until last week I had never seen one but for some strange reason I've been drawn to them slowly over the past year. Last week I went to Italy and found a small dealer in Verona that had a few Patek's Omega's and a dozen or so Panerai. If I was in a Rolex AD I could name nearly every one immediately but with Panerai I could even name one. However I loved the look of two of them and tried them one. One turned out to be a 590 and the other a 005 (the strap on the 005 was a different one that normally comes with it - when they showed me the original strap I wasn't as keen as the one they had on).The AD wouldn't do a deal on either but eventfully agreed to knock of €300 off the 005 and give me the strap that was one it (retail €320) - on a quick google of Prices it would have been the same as UK prices so I walked away. Firstly I figured I may get a deal at home and secondly was I just buying like bei
