What do you think of the new DJs?
Travelling with friends this weekend, and on our way back, we decided to pop in a mall to do some Christmas shopping. Inside, I noticed a jewelry store that was an AD. As I was looking at the new DJ, I noticed the 'Rolex" inscribed inside, and a new two tone face of the dial. I would have asked more about the watch; however, I was in a football jersey and sweats, and the AD gave me the evil eye, and had the finger on the security button. It was quite obvious he was going to be as helpful as a pit viper. So I left.Has anyone seen them? What are your thoughts? I have to admit, I was not a fan. The dial was black on the outer ring, and cream on the inside. It looked like an Oreo cookie. Curious what everyone else thinks.

Story of the watch that wanted to stay with me
This story started in 2008, when I first discovered the watch forums. I always liked watches but my resources were always limited and at that time I owned a couple of Swiss Army watches, a mechanical Poljot an automatic Swatch and a Vostok. Then I discovered the watch forums and a whole new world opened for me. I discovered the watches from Mr Fred Amos, and since he was also accepting trades, I traded my watches plus a whole bunch of cash for an Officer Watch and two Sea Shark watches. I loved the Officer watch and for that reason I never wore it. I was afraid of scratching it in some way, the strap was also too short for my wrist and so it sat in the beautiful wooden box unworn for months. Well for me the watch forums WERE the sales threads and I was looking through these over and over mostly to see what watches were there. question for ROC owners
I recently picked up a 26300 and the rotor makes a sort of ticking sound when it settles. It's not the ball bearings which make that familiar grinding noise, its when I flick my wrist, hear the rotor spin, then when it settles there is some sort of ticking sound. I can also hear it when if gently rock the watch and not use enough energy to make the rotor spin. - if that makes sense.Anyone experience this? Thanks

What's so great about "Co-axial?"
Sounds like a marketing gimmick to me.

Omega Restoration In Bienne
I recently bought an old Seamaster (case reference 166.042) which I decided would be a good candidate for a restoration by Omega in Bienne. The dial - which is one of the reasons I liked the watch - has some issues, and so the watch needs more than just a polishing and a cleaning. A true craftsman will need to restore the dial, or better yet maybe Omega has a spare original dial laying around to replace the dial. :) Here are some before pictures showing the dial (since that is the area that I think needs the most work):The movement seems to keeping good time, so it is mostly (I hope) a matter of restoring the dial, polishing the case, and making it look good as new.
