Lounging leisurely among the silvery stalks of grass, against a diamond-besprinkled black backdrop, Cartier's emerald-eyed panther appears pensive. Her white gold body is covered with a 270-diamond-bejewelled coat, set off with lacquered black spots. Just above her shoulders, off-centred at 10:30, two tiny, sword-shaped, gilded steel hands display the hours and minutes discreetly. Hi rolex lovers, and merry xmas. I have just bought a very cool 16710 Z-series from 2007. I have noticed that unlike my brothers submariner there is no microprint rolex logo at the 6 o' clock position on the glass. Is that normal or what?Martin

Okay, so I was going to take my time, read all I could find, cross-check valuations, and maybe wait until I'm out of grad school and can actually afford to indulge in such thingsand then I saw this:Hamilton_1.jpgHamilton_2.jpgI'm pretty sure this is an Orson from 1959-1960. It's 10k gold filled with the Swiss-made 17j 673 movement (no serial number). The line drawings in the catalogs don't show any texture on the Orson dial, so I'm not 100% sure, but the other details match. Can anyone confirm?It needs a replacement crown & crystal replaced plus servicing, but the dial is in beautiful aged condition and I just fell in love with the texture. Unfortunately, so did my husband - who is normally apathetic about watches - so I think it's going to become his!

Hi all,The following is my small watch collection: (1) A vintage 1980s Rolex DateJust with a white diamond Jubilee dial on a black letter strap. This was a gift from my wife. I generally wear this with a suit and black dress shoes.(2) An IWC 544401 Regulateur. This was a grail watch for a while. I generally wear it with brown dress shoes, both with a suit and jeans. (3) An early 2000s Tag Carrera on a steel bracelet. This was my daily watch for almost a decade. I would like to replace the Tag and create either a three or four piece rotation. The wifey has approved 8 - 10k budget for this endeavor. After a lot of research (and a few vetoes from the wife), I've narrowed my options down to the following: Rolex BLNR Batman (~$9k). I would buy this new as preowned is just as expensive, if not more. I love the look of this watch, as well as the GMT functionality.
