WatchTime hosted its largest and most luxurious consumer event to date, WatchTime New York, on October 23rd and 24th at Manhattan¡¯s Gotham Hall, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of more than 700 guests over the course of the two-day event.Twenty luxury watch brands, from internationally renowned manufacturers to up-and-coming independents, displayed their newest timepieces at the show, some of which were being seen by the American public for the first time. Getting the Royal Oak Elephant
I'm close to finally getting the Royal Oak Elephant but have a few questions i'd like your input on since I'm not too familiar with AP watches.- Price i was quoted for a new watch is $18,411. Is that a good deal?- When will the new models come out? Or at least expected to come out?- Is it a good time to buy the ROO? Any other models you recommend for me to consider? Price range is the same.- Which model from the Royal Oak Offshore do you prefer and why?If it makes any difference, I'm around 6'4 200 pounds.

Phone on meltdown ...... after launch today
I decided to take a trip down to my local AD today this morning prior to the reveal of the new models.The AD has changed the rules on the waiting list and will only add you to the list for a particular piece if you arrive in the shop in person.They decided to change the rules today and not take phone reservations.So i sat in the shop whilst Rolex updated their website. I added my name to the list for the gmt pepsi steel at no 1Then the phone started ringing and did not stop. I left the shop to grab a snack and called back in 25 min later to see if the phone had stopped ringing.It had not . If they had taken all the phone reservations they estimated the list would have been about 12 years for their stores allocation.Rolex looks as though they may have hit a home run......
