I received this watch in silver and have worn it several times. I love the large face, also I don't want my watch bracelet to fit tight so it's perfect. Wanted to get the gold tone , but I'll wait for a special price again.

Before I started posting photos of toy dogs and watches, I should have said hi. I look forward to discussing Omegas from time to time, and I'm sure this forum is a vast resource. I'm trying to think of a good Speedmaster/moon trivia question to get everyone thinking, but I have a feeling many of you know all the answers. Hmmm. How about this instead: In my other post I mentioned the Aldrin Speedmaster, possibly the most sought-after watch in the world, certainly among Speedmaster collectors. If that watch were to surface in the hands of a private owner, and its whereabouts became known to NASA, Aldrin, the US govt, etc, who is the rightful owner of the watch? I am sure this has been discussed before, but it could make for interesting discourse. Opinions? I'll begin by stating that NASA is the rightful owner UNLESS Aldrin can produce a document assigning ownership to him. This watch was my grandmother's. she was orginally from australia. Inside it says "swiss made" "15 jewels" on the cover is scratched "580" and "9c" or "26". Looking for some more info on this watch.Thanks!

Jewels act like the roller bearings or bushings of a watch's internals which are used to combat friction. Friction not only reduces the lifespan of the parts rubbing against each other, it affects accuracy as well. Since jewels were intended to be used on high wear points it made sense that the harder & smoother the material that they are made of, the better the reduction of friction. "Bond" Badged Omegas........... What's The Allure...
I've noted several times that the Bond models of the Omega Seamaster have become the biggest selling Omegas in it's history..But I gotta' ask............ what's the allure of the badged models.Bond didn't wear a watch with a spiral muzzle grooved dial......he didn't wear one with a tiny 007 hovering off the backside of the seconds hand...So, what's the allure of these badged models......They aren't really Bond watches, except for the symbols on them..Has celebrity envy overcome good taste ?

Romans w black stripe
I have a ref 118239 and on close inspection the hands have a black stripe on the centerline (no lume). Under my loupe each roman numeral has a black line. The newer watches do not have these it seems.Was this something done for certain years?
