Invicta 1408 wrist watches news:
This is the wrist of Swiss national TT champion Fabian Cancellara thundering across the rough roads of the Strade Bianche in Tuscany. I've heard he's wearing an IWC, and it certainly looks like an Aquatimer (IW376711), but something about the bezel doesn't look right. Any takers?
My dad recently passed away and he gave me his watch to remember him by. His father bought this watch, and two additional ones identical, for him and his two brothers. It was always cool as a young kid getting together and seeing my uncles with the same watch my father had.The problem is I like watches, I just don't work on them. It needs to be done right and I don't know anyone who could do it right. I've been burned by jewelry shops before so I'd prefer to pay someone rather than a shop. So, does anyone know anyone reputable and trustworthy either on this forum, or online, or in Albuquerque that could refurbish this watch, and do it right? I think the curved crystal will be hard to find and it might need a new movement. When I shake it around to wind it, nothing happens. Face and hands look great. Everything glows except the 8 position. Case is kind of scratched and all the numbers are very visible on the back. Crystal is totally readable but has incidental scratches. Any help would
This is obviously not the Boutique, and the 15202 he has was a sealed and packed watch which the guy was really not wanting to open and remove. They usually sell the jumbo that way apparently.Anyways I have tried it on before, I knew it was slightly big but said I could live with it. He did have a 15300 which I tried on.The links were already removed and I just couldn't help but feel that the watch didn't sit as nicely as I like. The gap between the lugs was annoying me, and he assured me that the 15202 would be exactly the same.I absolutely love the dial, the bracelet is something that I have been wanting for a long time, but I can't stand the look where the watch doesn't sit.Moving on I found another piece. The PP 5711. The first time for me to see in the flesh, and I was blown away completely.Have yet to try this beauty in blue, but the way she sits on my wrists, the light weight of the watch, the dial, the PCL, EVERYTHING. I really really like the white honestly, but I have to try
I have a 111 at the moment, but am toying with the idea of trading for a 024 submersible. It's looks so cool on the wrist and I like it more and more the more I see it. I'm wondering if there are any intangibles to consider, such as cost of servicing an ETA hand wind movement vs the Valjoux automatic, accuracy of the movements, ability to collect or hide the dings that show up, etc. The thought of replacing a bezel vs polishing out scratches sounds nice, too (unless I'm off on that). Thanks!
That draws you to it?Let me explain what I mean. I never used to like the look of them and Until last week I had never seen one but for some strange reason I've been drawn to them slowly over the past year. Last week I went to Italy and found a small dealer in Verona that had a few Patek's Omega's and a dozen or so Panerai. If I was in a Rolex AD I could name nearly every one immediately but with Panerai I could even name one. However I loved the look of two of them and tried them one. One turned out to be a 590 and the other a 005 (the strap on the 005 was a different one that normally comes with it - when they showed me the original strap I wasn't as keen as the one they had on).The AD wouldn't do a deal on either but eventfully agreed to knock of €300 off the 005 and give me the strap that was one it (retail €320) - on a quick google of Prices it would have been the same as UK prices so I walked away. Firstly I figured I may get a deal at home and secondly was I just buying like bei
