Invicta 1202 wrist watches news:
Flying watches nearly always have some heritage behind them. ?The Bremont MB series, for example. ?You'll only get your mitts on an MB I (the rare one with the red knurled barrel) if you're ¡®fortunate' enough to eject from your aircraft in a Martin Baker ejector seat. ?That's impressive enough, but how about a watch that was worn by members of THE most successful WWII RAF squadron, 312 – the ¡®Czech Squadron'? ?We're measuring success by flying ability here; there are still seven Spitfires in existence today that were flown by 312. That's the most from any one WWII squadron.Strangely, the watch associated with 312 is rather less well known than most historical aviation watches. ?It's the Longines Czech Air Force (CAF) 3582.The Longines CAF was originally manufactured in 1935 and used the pocketwatch cal.15.94 movement. Marked on the caseback were the unambiguous words "MAJETEK VOJENSK¨¦ SPR¨¢VY" or "Property of Military Affairs". ?Longines supplied three dial and movement variations
I ended with 3 of this model. Two non-runners were dirt cheap and I found a running one for a good deal as well. All of the dials have some level of radium burn and patina, of the 3, this was the best and I'm pretty happy with it.As I was setting the second hand, the black paint on it just crumbled off, so at some point I'll have to repaint the arm up to the red arrow. Maybe at some point, I'll send one of the dials off to ID to see what they can do with it. I did re-lume the hands, as the radium had fallen out at some point. The case is stainless steel, and as you can see, has a coin edge motif.
No longer available.
I am interested in picking up a skeleton watch. Unfortunately, a budget of sorts must be honored (Hamiltons are at the top of my range), I know Breguet, IWC, and Patek make some beautiful watches - but...Any favorites out there? A quick search showed me the Akribos XXIV Davinci among others, but I liked the "simpler" look. Decorated movement is fine as long as it doesn't detract from the piece from simple beauty of the movement itself.Ideas?B
Got a question guys! I'm in the market for an Omega, and I can purchase them through the exchange on base. But, I don't have a whole lot of knowledge about them. I do know that I don't want a quartz. So, is the model 2254.50.00, Sea Master Professional 300M date chronometer an automatic? I can get this watch for $1719.00 USD! Is that a good price? Please let me know!R/Woody
