The original IWC Portofino ref. 5251, introduced in the early 80s, has achieved cult status. I finally bought my tt blue dial sub!!!
Hello Friends,The news is true, I finally bought myself a brand new Z-Serial TT Blue Dial Sub, my elusive 16613. I have had an off and on love affair with this watch for the past, oh I dunno, 8-10 years? Makes me wish I purchased before the last price hike, but oh well. The story is really simple actually. My wife and I went into my favorite local AD here at home to get my wedding ring polished up and engraved. I slid on over to the Rolex counter, my salesman showed me the 16613, and the rest is history! The wife approved the purchase, oddly enough, with a smile on her face! I have come close to buying this watch about 3 times now, in various other locations (vacations, etc.). But, I never walked away with one. This time, though, my lucky stars aligned and I got to purchase. I am so overjoyed when I think about it - like my never-ending search is finally over. Hi everybody,Having been a Rolex wearer for many years, I have now fallen in love with IWC. Actually this happened years ago but I'm only now in a position to buy one. I'm heading to Hong Kong next month for that very purpose - an early Christmas present to myself.Now, I'm really looking for wise guidance. My questions are these:I really want an IWC Pilot Chronograph, but don't have a big wrist - the 42mm may be too big as the top of my wrist from beginning one curve to the other is about 50mm. What's your opinion?I've read somewhere that the older version was around 39mm - How much are these going for nowadays and does anybody recommend a good place for second hand IWC's in Hong Kong?

I had a rare opportunity to dine with a true celebrity this past weekend, and thought I would share my amazing experience...I was a very fortunate guest of Omega for the PGA championship in Louisville Kentucky. Unless you've been living under a rock the past few years, you should all know that Omega is the Official time keeper of the PGA, and Omega Ambassador Rory Mcilroy is not only two-time winner of this tournament, but is the top ranked golfer in the World...So naturally, Omega was in a celebratory mood this weekend.However, the experience that was most impressive for me took place far away from any putting green or tee box...By whatever serendipitous happenstance, I found myself sitting across from Raynald Aeschlimann - (Vice-president of Omega)...He was, as the thread title would suggest, wearing an OMEGA lunar Dust...I believe I may infact be a Jedi master, because within minutes, this watch was on my wrist, and remained there until after the post dinner cocktails...DSC00496.jp
