Anyone seen this Speedy before?
I thought I'd seen most SMPs and Speedys, but this one caught my eye and is unfamiliar. It's a #3552.59 "Speedy Racing" chrono. Copy says it's an automatic with a sapphire crystal. "Swiss Automatic" movement (hmmmmm....which one?).Anyone familiar with this? I kinda like it.

Illinois Pocketwatch Project Completed
I purchased this Illinois pocketwatch because I liked the way it looked and it was in dire need of care that it was unlikely to get if I had not purchased it. Between my purchase price and the cost of repairs I am certain I have far more into it than it is worth, but I am satisfied to know it is now a useful part of society. Interestingly, I have never had a watch, of any kind, that ticks as loud as this one does. Wow! It needed a new balance staff and a replacement jewel, was disassembled, cleaned and oiled and is now working beautifully. Nothing special to look at, just a watch rescused from the junk heap.

Hi All:After years of staying away from watches why did I think I wanted a 5513? Boredom perhaps, but I'm delighted to happen upon Rolex Forum and the generosity of participants in the Vintage Rolex section. Initially, I was surprised to find an AP adjunct and hoped to avoid temptation, but trespass seemed destined as ruin is inevitable. Thanks to bantering here I dove into my sock drawer and dug out my old RM only to have the strap break after a few days. I admit the incident, always in retrospect, was more amusing than embarrassing. While amidst the lyles, argyles and gym socks I found and decided to dust off the old ROO and take a couple of snaps to share herein.Best wishes.RC

How does your AD deal with issues?
So I purchased a second watch recently from an AD, and it wasn't to my expectations (crown appeared not to always engage position 2 or 3, date seemed to change at 2am intermittently).If you purchased a new watch and it had issues from new, would you expect your AD to replace or refund, or offer a repair in the first couple of days of ownership?1.
