Invicta 1557 wrist watches news:
Coming to us from Glashutte, A. Lange & Sohne have taken their benchmark Grand Lange 1 model and given it a dose of of funk with a semi-transparent dial, a la the Zeitwerk Luminous.? This pre-SIHH release is a limited edition of 100 pieces, all cased in platinum, and represents the first time the trademark outsized date will be luminous. It was just last year that ALS introduced the Grand Lange 1 with an entirely new manually wound movement - this time without the second mainspring barrel - to allow for a thinner profile.? The Grand Lange 1 Lumen's sapphire crystal dial allows for the wearer to see the large date mechanism working while keeping the hours, minutes, and running seconds fully legible.? This is accomplished by making only the outer ring and the surfaces of the displays for hours and minutes as well as small seconds of blackened silver.? 2 OF 2 Click to expand The sapphire crystal sections of the dial are treated with a special coating that blocks most of
Hi AllMy first post here and Houston kindly invited me here. He was very kind to provide me information and advice on Speedmasters and I thought to return the courtesy and share with the forum here some of my early photographs of my Seasmaster Chrono. I have had this watch for some years and this set of images were taken and published just mid last year. Tough as nails and worth every cent. Many other watches have come and gone but my Seamaster is still with me.Hope you enjoy the photos.SEAMASTER CHRONOGRAPHCheersHorolographerwatchinghorology
Hi GangIf I wanted to train to be a "jedi" (like Jocke or JBH), and be able to do things like: open an oyster case, remove and swap bezels, scrutinise up close and appraise, take pictures of the movement inside, etc etc....What basic watch tools would I need?Right now, I have none, but have discovered a shop that actually sells all this "lightsabre stuff" (schzoom..schzoom...sound of lightsabre swing). Can any jedi out there recommend the basic watch tool kit to me?BTW...I intend to practice on an old seiko first. I have some nice watches (or at least, what are nice watches to me) I have not worn even once in 2011. In particular, I have a Breitling SuperOcean, an IWC Mark XV, and a Rolex Seamaster that I have not worn even once in 2011. It has probably been a couple of years since I last wore the Omega, and maybe a year or so since I last wore the Breiting. I think I wore the IWC for a week or so last fall. And I have no desire right now to wear any of them either. But here is the problem.I also cannot bring myself to just get rid of them.WTH is wrong with me? How stupid is it to have several thousand dollars worth of watches just spinning on a watch winder for months or years at a time? Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a clinical diagnosis for this mental disorder? And is there a cure?
Hi allFirst of all thanks to all of you who replied to my thread with regards to choosing between a 5712 and a 5164. Really helpful comments.I got a msg from my AD about a week ago telling me that I had been allocated a 5712G that was to arrive on April 1.I still hadn't decided between the 5712G and the 5164. I told my AD contact I was probably leaning towards the 5164 however I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see the Nautilus in the flesh so in I go to check it out. I'm the first customer in the door. I look at the 5712G from every angle for quite a while. It's a beautiful piece but it just wasn't singing to me... I wanted to look cool like Paul McCartney and George Soros! So I tell the AD that I just can't do it and will wait for the 5164. He asks me if I'm sure and I say yes. He signals to his co-worker and within 30 seconds out she comes with a double sealed 5164! He says surprise! April Fools! Was t sure if I was annoyed or ecstatic or both. Probably both! Anyway it was gr
