Longines L4.716.4.52.6 wrist watches news:
Ease of use and user-friendliness are the top priorities for Montblanc¡¯s new Star World-Time GMT Automatic. All functions can be operated via the readily grasped and screwed crown. Presented in a 42mm steel case, this piece is available with black or silver guilloche dial. When the crown is in its neutral (unscrewed) position, turning it clockwise manually winds the automatic movement and turning it counter-clockwise resets the outer ring which indicates the worlds 24 time zones. When the crown has been withdrawn to its first extracted position, turning it clockwise resets the date and turning it counter-clockwise triggers the GMT hand (with the red tip) to advance in hourly increments. Finally, when the crown has been withdrawn to its second extracted position, turning it clockwise adjusts the 12-hour and the minute-hand in the usual manner. The 12-hour hand is permanently coupled to the movement and shows the time in the wearer¡¯s present location. The smaller GMT hand is accompanied b
Seiko has launched a new website dedicated to Ananta. Introduced at Basel 2009 and available internationally, Ananta is a new Elite Collection using both Spring Drive and high-grade mechanical movements. The new website offers striking visuals with in-depth information about the Ananta line’s history, development, key features, and current models. For example, the Inspiration section explains the history of Japanese swordmaking and how this art form has been incorporated into the Ananta line. The site’s Mechanism area provides detailed explanations about the movements inside the watches with videos and still images to illustrate key points. You can visit the new site by clicking here, or by clicking the images below.Clicking this image will take you to the Ananta home page This image takes you to the Spring Drive page
So I just got this watch and wound it for the first time and it's running grossly fast (10 minutes per hour). I'm a newbie and therefore don't fully understand the workings of mechanical watches, but I've read some possibilities like the watch being "magnetized" or rattled during shipping and can be knocked back into place.Do I need to see a watchmaker or is there an easy way to diagnose this and solve it myself? I do want to learn to tinker with these myself...Thanks in advance.Adam
So I head downtown to my local AD to pick up my Oris. They were swapping the band for me, and a pin broke. They had to order one from Oris, yadayadayada. It was no big deal to me; not like I had to go without a watch. They call me on Friday and told me it would be ready today. Cool. They put the rubber strap back on, and polished the case, even removing some of the nicks that the last three years has inflicted. So I ask my buddy if he wants to take a ride down with me. He likes watches, but his fanciest watch thus far has been one of those vintage pocket watches that had been converted to a wristwatch; either that or his quartz Hamilton Khaki that he bought about a month ago.So I¡¯m waiting for the girl to bring my Oris up, and my buddy is perusing the display cases, and something catches his eye. He asks to see it. He likes it. He tries it on. He likes it. He ponders. He decides. In short, he walked out with a beautiful pre-owned Bell & Ross Vintage 126. Had he not walked out with it
Please take this with a grain salt. Apparently, Rolex Executives are quite angry with the new owners of the Formula One Group. It is rumoured, Rolex will not renew any sponsorship with F1 when the contract terminates. One reason is that Rolex is angry that a certain Dutch brewing company has been infiltrating Rolex's product placement and that Rolex does not want to be associated with a beer company and all that it suggests. My source? Formula 1 season opens here in my neck of the woods and a few Rolex Executives are around. Once again, this is pure speculation but watch this space.
