Invicta 11833 wrist watches news:
Watches, it must be said, are not a rational preoccupation; we tend to love them, or hate them, and because we don't all love or hate the same thing, a lot of the time we argue over things that must seem unlikely, or even outlandish, to people who don't share our fascination for mechanical timepieces. Here are five things that produced divided opinions among HODINKEE readers in 2015 (and "divided opinions" is putting it mildly). Quartz, Oh Boy, Quartz 1 OF 5 Quartz is something that is probably always going to be divisive to mechanical watch enthusiasts in particular, and watch enthusiasts in general. Our foray into putting some of our favorite, most historically interesting or technically advanced quartz watches out there met with decidedly mixed reviews, and with good reason: for many mechanical watch lovers, the fact that quartz wristwatches exist at all is a bit of an affront. I'm new to Longines, but do have a few vintage watches of other brands. Today at an estate sale of a Lt. Col. RNA (whose pilots lic. was #10) I pickup up this:He was active during both WW and was a test pilot afterwards. Does anyone have any idea what the lever at the 6 o'clock position is used for? Any other comments would be appreciated.Barry
This watch is a family heirloom but I can't find anything on it. I found these pictures off of eBay but the one shown looks really, really new. The one I have is about 25 Years old, don't know if that's good or bad. The watch is a mechanical and goes by the name of Cortebert 17-Jewel INCABLOC.I found one on eBay for $667. I know nothing of the price though.Any ideas?
Note to Moderators: If you want to move or duplicate this to the Lum-Tec forum go right ahead, I just thought I'd share.Well ordered and got this, thought it looked cool and figured I'd give it a try.I also thought I'd give a try at my first "unveiling" in pictures.Hope everyone has at least DSL!
Was told today that Rolex will increase the US markets pricing and the SS SD¡¯s will go to $18K... Your thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
