- This is a terrific watch. Time is easy to read though date is a little harder. Only caveat -- took the jeweler a while to adjust the band. But maybe that's a good thing.

Invicta 18528 wrist watches news:
You may have spotted a couple of ebay auctions for Hamilton Electric watches with a prototype '507' movement; apparently a 505 modified with a date complication.I've obviously not read Rene's "Watch of the Future" book well enough because I didn't know about this movement. About 25 watches made before the company binned the project. Would love to have one but way out of my league!Auctions 160646863026 and 170697901263. Different sellers; synchronicity!
I am looking for a dress watch. I've been thinking of Portofino IW356302. I would appreciate to hear from anybody that owns it. I like its simplicity and 39 mm size. The design seems timeless to me. Like it is not driven by curent trends. Since the movement 30110 inside (an upgraded ETA) is also used in Mark XV I hope there are plenty of people with experiences. Accuracy? I figure, it would be good to hear out those that know before spending.
I know towards the end of their existence in Elgin, Illinois, Elgin had a few watches using Swiss movements with day and date displays (1965?). But that was extremely late to the party.I'm not an expert on this subject, and I'm not sure what Gruen or Hamilton had to offer in terms of day/date movements, but I know that Benrus, in the late 40's used a modified ETA 900 movement for their Calendar line of watches. So, why didn't they? Elgin was using some Swiss movements in the 50's. Why didn't they use some with date functions?Didn't the lack of date and or day displays put Elgin at a competitive disadvantage?
My Superocean 44mm has arrived, I picked this up from an AD in Calgary which is 2.5 hours south of me. The reason I bought it from an AD in another city is the fact that our local AD didn¡¯t want to play the discount game, so I phoned around for pricing but I didn¡¯t go with the lowest price. I could have bought the watch for $250.00 less, but I did take reputation into consideration. Aside from that, they said that if there is a need for service work I can send it to them and they will send it to Breitling Canada free of charge. They will also refinish the watch anytime I want whenever I¡¯m down in Calgary. I also get a free service before the end of the warranty period which is 2 years. You may notice some lines on the markers around the bezel, they are actually raised SS markers that have a heavy brushed finish to match the brushed look on the watch. She is one solid piece of metal that sports a 44 mm diameter, 16.7 mm thick with a Breitling cal 17 movement. It also has an AR coating o
We have a midsize auto Bond Seamaster 300 that suddenly stopped after 18 months with no advance warning. It will have to be sent to one of the dreaded service centers under warranty.I have an opportunity to get a mid-sized Planet Ocean Orange as a replacement for $2,100.00 from Jareds. But the catch is that its pre-owned and you do not get a box or cards, but you do get a one year store warranty.Any thoughts as to this arrangement?
