My modded Seiko SKX173
Here's some pics of my modded Seiko SKX173 I picked up a year or so ago off a WUS member. I recall he said he just couldn't get used to it. I'm loving it, as I personally love the stainless case/bracelet with a blue dial look. Aren't some brands calling this a "Caribbean?" Why is that if anyone knows? Anyways, if I recall correctly, it's modded with a Yobokies bracelet and dial, and a MCWW chapter ring and hands. I fit the watch in my rotation, and it's been flawless. Seems to be very efficient also, running for a fairly long reserve with little wear time. On to the pics. Eric

So I am back home in WI for a wedding in the family and have been catching up with parents and relatives and all that bit. My father brought out a pocketwatch that had been given to him by his father, and I wasn't too familiar with it. I am hoping maybe you lot can help shed some light on the watch and the brand...The dial says Hampden Watch Co and along the top of the sub dial it says Canton OhioHave a look:

One of the things that I love about Patek is that they are nondescript. Chances are very few of us get asked is that a Patek? or how much does it cost? This generally suits me fine.Imagine my surprise today when an airline passenger (not first class) seated next to me says, excuse me but is that a Patek Calatrava? Wow. The fact that he knew it was a Patek much less a Calatrava was astonishing. Turns out he's interested in watches but doesn't have the resources to indulge himself in this hobby. He was wearing a very clean and obviously well cared for Seiko on strap. He isn't on watch forums but gets his knowledge from watch magazines and really knows his stuff. Good afternoon,Could a more knowledgeable member of the forum help with a how-to re the above ? The watch in question is a 2014 5712/1a. There's nothing in the manual on how to do it and both the search function on here and Google are letting me down.A weblink, or a couple of tips, would be very much appreciated indeed.

Datejust 41 - which is the right choice? Black vs Rhodium
I am really thinking about the Datejust 41, and while I tried the silver dial, I was sure that I would go with black.... untill I fell over the below pictures.The watch would acompany the SD 116600, a silver dial JLC Ultra Thin and possibly a Speedmaster pro...Let me have your input, please!!Rhodium:Black:- via iPhone
