SIHH 2015: New Dial Designs for A. Lange & S?hne Saxonia (Updated with Live Photos)
At the?SIHH 2015 watch fair, German luxury watch brand A. Lange & Sohne unveiled three new models in its elegant, understated Saxonia collection. The new-generation versions of the Saxonia, Saxonia Automatic, and Saxonia Dual Time all feature subtly redesigned dials, with two models also sporting new case dimensions.Lange Saxonia watches ¡ª which, along with the iconic Lange 1, were launched 20 years ago as one of the brand’s original collections ¡ª remain a cornerstone of A. Lange & Sohne portfolio, thus the changes that Lange decided to make to these models’ aesthetics are very nuanced and precisely placed. For its new Saxonia dials, A. Lange & S?hne moved the gold applied hour indices closer to the periphery of the dial and added double-baton indices at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. Super slim watches
Despite being stuck in the middle of the Big Watch Era, I love super-slim timepieces and see them as the height of horological art. It is harder - and more expensive - to build a slim, small movement.This watch is one of my favorites: a COSC ETA 2894-2 cased by Edox. Here is it side by side with a US 25-cent piece:

Stopped by my local AD this morning to get my wife's earrings repaired. I always browse when I can, and I have been on hunt for a watch for my wife. She has finally jumped on the Rolex bandwagon after much work. She fancied the smaller 26mm size, which has been fairly elusive if not impossible to source. She requested a 26mm TT with silver face and roman numeral dial. Been looking for about a year, the grey dealers weren't able to locate one. I was afraid my next option would be eBay, but was a bit apprehensive. However today, when browsing the AD had a 26mm TT silver face with roman numerals in the case that was just put out this week. It's pre-owned but never sized. They have also ran it through for a complete tune up with their in-house rolex watchmaker. Price was right so I grabbed it. Christmas shopping done!
