Jacob & Co. JC-14 wrist watches news:
At Baselworld 2011, Breitling will introduce special all-white ¡°Ice¡± versions of the the Bentley GT and Bentley GT Racing chronographs. These chronographs, already distinguished by their size, which is more compact than the other Breitling for Bentley models making them suited to all wrists, now also offer a distinctive and instantly-identifiable look. Find pricing and wallpaper inside. This new look couples an Ice White dial ¨C an exclusive Bentley livery color ¨C with a rubber strap in the same shade. The dials, enhanced by rimmed counters, evoke the dashboards of Bentley Grand Tourers. The bezel with its knurled motif is reminiscent of the marque’s control buttons. The “chassis” of the Bentley GT Ice chronograph has a steel case with an all-polished finish, while the Bentley GT Racing Ice version is distinguished by finishes alternating between satin-brushed upper surfaces and polished sides, and its caseback bears a medallion with the outline of the famous Bentley C
It is probably my most favorite interpretation of the dial on Nicolas Rieussec impressive Montblanc timepieces. For 2011 Montblanc will publish a few versions of this watch Nicolas Rieussec chronograph Anniversary Edition. [IMG] The dial has many subtle changes to it, and the result is something extremely prestigious in appearance and beautifully refined. The dial itself is engraved Guilloche machine. The case is about 43 mm wide and available in any 18 k Rose Gold White, gold or Platinum (Platinum version has a Crown of white gold 18 k).
Just bought a pre-owned datejust last week, and look what I found on the dial - 2 tiny aliens!! Seller told me watch has never been opened except maybe for authentication, and this is a D-series (2005 or 2006) so how could these have found their way inside the dial? My dilemna, Rolex service center is charging me more than usd200 to clean up the watch (they call it overhaul) which I am not sure right now I am willing to shell outoption 2 is to have it serviced at the shop I bought it from, is it safe? option 3 leave it as is...but it is just so painful to look at :(what do you think gentlemen? and ladies? :) TIA
Are modern mechanical watch movements of similar design and quality, essentially comparable? Reading a listing of a 17 jewel Patek struck me as decidedly similar to a description of a Hamilton. It got me wondering if and when mechanical watch technology reached maturityWhat makes a manual-wind movement superior and does Hamilton (alongside other brands) represent the apex of wind-up watch development? Technology typically advances in stages and eventually reaches a point where further development is largely incremental. When it comes to portable watercraft, the canoe is an elegant machine that's not likely to change very much. Inflatible boats with outboards may supplant canoes in certain applications, but they're not "better canoes." My knowledge of watch mechanics is pretty basic, but my guess is that manual-wind watch movements are now rather canoe-like. Is that true? And if so, can the best Hamilton watch movements of the 20th century be placed alongside other superior bran
So, let me start by saying the hulk was on my eventual shopping list. I had every intention of buying a dd36 (champagne with sticks) this year. This past week I was given the opportunity to get a hulk from my ad, so I jumped on it. I'm not going to lie, I knew I eventually wanted one, and got caught up in the hype of limited supply and it being discontinued, and all the other stuff I know I should not let swing my decision. The punchline is, I'm not going to be able to afford the dd36 this year. Now that the dust is settled I'm a little disappointed I have to wait at least another year to be ready for the DD. The hulk is awesome, but I was zeroed in on getting my grail. I know this is probably one those quit your crying moments, but I'd be curious what others would do. Do I dump the hulk and get the DD now, or enjoy the hulk and wait another 12-18 months for the DD (that is of course if life doesn't get in the way)Thanks for listening to me vent about this non-problem.
