Just arrived: 1954 Elgin Sherwood
The highlights. It is in excellent shape, with only a little wear to the dial where I think glue seeped onto it one point from a crystal refit. The movement is the 683, manual wind, 17 jewels, adjusted at the factory. The bezel is 10k gold while the caseback is stainless steel. The biggest plus, is that it came with its original JB Champion, that you can see in the ad.

I'm always on the lookout for my next watch. During one of these searches I came across a Swiss Legend with a clear plastic case. What is the general consensus with plastic on watches? How does it compare to a metal case other than the obvious aesthetics? I like the different look but would be hesitant to purchase if every couple of months I would have to send the watch in for service due to case cracks and such. What's your opinion?

The best way to top of a great business look or an evening affair is to wear Omega Cufflinks with your Omega watch! I have wanted a pair of these for years. I guess too lazy to just go to the Omega Boutique. But my search came to an end last week arriving from across the Pond aka the UK. After spending more than I wanted...when they arrived they were worth every cent! The detail is unbelievable, from the certificate of authenticity, to the serial numbers engraved on the back, to the engraved omega symbol on the end. As some of you might know, I posted on this forum here, asking for help, trying to choose between a 111 and 000. Thanks for the suggestions guys, you certainly helped me make up my mind! But first, a little background...Four years ago, I'd been looking at possibly getting a Panerai. I registered myself and was an ardent lurker on the Paneristi forums. Lurk, lurk, lurk, lurk... save, save, save, save... finally, I had the resources to pull the trigger on a Panerai. I had decided then to go for the Pam176 - I liked the titanium build, and its clean dial appealed to me. So I started the hunt for a used 176, but just my luck... nothing came up in my searches on Paneristi. So I moved on to other forums, TRF being one of them. Naturally (and especially since this is a Rolex forum), I deviated and started getting interested in the Submariner instead. All of a sudden, my interest had suddenly taken a massive turn. Two years of careful research seemed to have been flushed down the drain! I spen
