Spring bar tool
Can anyone suggest the proper spring bar tool to change out various straps and bands? I have a PO that I may want to change from the rubber strap to the SS band. I also have a Breitling with a rubber strap that I will need to change to a leather strap. Is there a certain tool that would work best? And does it take different ends to remove the spring bar from leather/rubber vs. a stainless steel band?

How good is Hardlex?
I just ordered a Seiko that has a Hardlex crystal. It's basically a dress watch - the one in my other post "Is there a difference...", but with a leather band. This one showed a photo of the hangtag which stated Hardlex, and a photo of the back of the watch which did not say sapphire crystal.Anyway, since I was going to put a leather band on it anyway, I figured I'd order it for $99, even though I knew I wasn't getting sapphire, but I might if I ordered one on a stainless bracelet. Maybe they switched what crystal they used in that model at some point?Anyway, the point is, the one I ordered has Hardlex, and I think the OM that I have also is Hardlex - so how scratch resistent is it?Thanks!

...on an original fish bone bracelet.Interesting how the bracelet is asymmetric to accommodate the asymmetric case shape. The case is wider at the 12 o'clock side, to make room for the crown and pushers, than at the 6 o'clock side. So while the lug widths (and end links) are 20mm at both ends, the bracelet is 20mm at the 6 o'clock end but flares to 24mm at the 12 o'clock end!70's bracelets, Japanese or Swiss, usually seem to be designed more as torture devices than anything else. They all have a thin, cheap, tinny feel compared to modern bracelets this fish bone bracelet is no exception it seems too thin and underweight to support the weight of the watch head. 70's bracelet building technology just couldn't cope with the designers' imaginations. Honestly, most 70's bracelets, even from expensive brands like Omega and Rolex, seem like they were made in someones garage when compared to even cheap modern bracelets from China.I think there's a bracelet swap in this watch's futur

New DJ II From AD - Opinion ??
Hi all, I¡¯m new here. I haven¡¯t had a Rolex in 5+ years and don¡¯t have any collection currently. I have been itching to get back in and prefer the DJ 2 over the new 41. Sadly so it seems SS models are in crazy demand and with this model being discontinued for some time there isn¡¯t a whole lot to come by. I have always purchased my watches from a local ¡°trusted seller¡± but never an AD. I want to keep these watches for the long haul and think the AD route may be beneficial so I am asking what you guys think regarding a discount knowing the above. DJ 2 Fluted SS black stick dial msrp $9100 - 13% discount selling $7900 shipped to my office. In the past I have only been a 20%+ strike price guy but with the current situation I know there¡¯s better out there but I haven¡¯t had any luck finding it from an AD. Heck even the 2nd market is close in price. What do you guys think and can anyone help with a better deal from an AD?P.S. I was offered 17% off on the rhodium diamond but I didn¡¯t
