Jaeger LeCoultre Q2668110 wrist watches news:
I've been anxiously waiting for this watch since pre-ordering one out of the last batch back in early March. This is a Limited Edition model of 150 pieces based off the Sinn 856 S UTC. This one is known as the 856 S BKA/SG, or 856S UTC SG.. The S stands for "Schwarz" = Black. BKA is "Bundeskriminalamt" which is the German equivalent of the FBI. The SG is "Sicherungsgruppe" or Security Group which is the protection division of the BKA similar to the US Secret Service. It is a smallish watch by todays standards at 40mm, but it wears larger because the dial is standard size. Plus I have a small wrist so 40mm-44mm works best for me. As you can see it is also a destro model with the crown on the left. I'm a PVD freak and one of the things that drew me to the watch is Sinn's super hardened Tegimented PVD which arrived looking fantastic! I also love the double AR coated crystal. The watch is exceedingly easy to read at any angle with just a glance. The watch comes on a very nice
from a physics forum post by diamondgeezer:Does a wristwatch measure imaginary time? This is from "Exploring Black Holes" by Taylor and Wheeler. It's a very good book but I struggle not with the math, but the explanations (sometimes)On page B-13 is a frame called "Metric for the Rain Frame", which is a transformation of the Schwarzschild Metric from "bookkeeper coordinates" to shell coordinates to "rain coordinates"All well and good. Here is the final equation for the rain frame:The text continues:Quote:This metric can be used anywhere around a non-rotating black hole, not just inside the horizon. Our ability to write the metric in a form without infinities at is an indication that the plunger feels no jerk or jolt as she passes through the horizon Now I have a few observations about this:1. Yes, the metric has got rid of the infinity at butwhen r this means that which means that is imaginary2. When r is slightly greater than 2M, then in order for the wristwatch of the plunger to r
Love the look of this watch and was thinking of picking one up.Are there mechanical issues to be wary of? Any insights appreciated. Thanks.
So I went to wind my 5711 Nautilus this morning after a few days of not wearing it (It's been worn and running continuously for months btw) and after 30-40 winds it runs for 10 seconds and stops. I shake it a little to the rotor spinning and nothing. I put the watch on and nothing. So I put it down and come back in 10 minutes and it's running. Needless to say this was not confidence inspiring and now in wondering WTF happened ??! I've still got some warranty left on it but really don't want to send It in for 6 months. Any ideas here or is this normal b/c it doesn't seem normal.
hi guysi have been following these forums for a long time trying to decide what watch to buy over the next 3 months and have decided it will be a Datejust with a fluted bezel. But i am still a watch beginner and only own a Rado, DW and few other basic watches but have been an admirer of Rolex DJ and Omega Speedmast/Seamaster for a long time. Being I'm in the UK and this site seems very heavily focused on USA seller and AD's and I just don't know where i can buy the watch?I have been looking at the ads from AD's on this forum but not sure if i can trust them as i don't want to buy a fake and especially when shipping abroad. So ideally i need a recommendation for UK/London sellers who are reasonably priced for a used model, my budget is 3-4k GBP. Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy or should i risk online from USA? This is the type of watch, but i find this site watchfinder slightly expensive. I will be wearing this casually and at work, smooth bezels seem to be cheaper, is the f
