2255.50 SMP question
Will the electric blue seamaster share the same fate of being discontinued as the 2254.50? I always though that a speedmaster and a seamaster would be a great Omega combo to have, one being an ultimate chrono and the other being a great dive watch for times around water. The 2255 has always struck me as a beautiful piece and right now it may be more obtainable than the sapphire sandwich, which is my grail. I was going to wait and get the speedy first when the time was right financially, but if the 2255 SMP is going to be discontinued, I may pull the trigger on that first.Thanks,Dave

4 vintage mens watches for 10$, and I think I overpaid. (Marcel, Tradition)
**** this watch collecting bug, making me not consider what I'm buying before it's mine.Went to an estate sale today, the lady there had a baggie with 4 watches in it. I don't think I looked at it for more than 2 seconds before buying it for 10$When I got home, I realized that what I bought was well...crap.I got a broken Timex, a grungy "trangise", a non-working "Tradition" and a non working "Marcel". Bah humbug!The Marcel is most interesting, it doesn't wind and I can't figure out how to get it open. I like the face, it has sort of a cloth pattern to it.The 'Tradition' watch is also kinda neat. GMT II or Explorer 2 for Travel? & Safety?
I'm just about to pull the trigger on my first Rolex but I'm having trouble deciding between a GMT II or Explorer 2 and I'm curious what people's opinions are regarding each with regard to safety while traveling. I really want to use the watch as an every day wear while I'm traveling. I'm torn because I'm leaning towards the GMT II but I feel that it stands out more than the Explorer 2 which is more subtle and not as noticeable. I travel a lot, both to relatively safe countries but also to less developed countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, India and places in South America. None of the countries are really that dangerous but I think a less noticeable watch would probably be preferable. Not to mention, the guilt I might feel owning something so expensive in a poorer country. I know people are going to say to just leave the Rolex at home and take a less expensive watch but I would like to take the Rolex with me on adventures so I can have good memories when I look at it in the fu
