Closed the deal on this little lovely yesterday, and it's now in transit via US Registered/Insured.....My very first Double Red Sea-Dweller!!!! Here's a seller pic:It's a watch-only deal on this '72 Mark III DRSD - no accessories. But it was a deal I couldn't pass up on acquiring one of these rare beauties. And I've had so much fun from the three Red Submariner restoration projects I've done in the past, I figured even if I don't keep this one, it will be a similar experience. It appears to be in very similar condition to past Red Subs I've had - I'll need to shine it up a bit, replace the plexiglass, possibly replace the crown. I'd LOVE to find a tritium pearl to put in the bezel insert. But that may be difficult. I'm hoping to have it by Wed./Thursday of next week. Then the restoration work begins!!

Seiko"Frecce Tricolori"
I have always been a fan of one watch built by Seiko for their pilots of the Japanese Ailrines. I don't know the model number but I have always known it as the Seiko ANA. This is a pilot type watch with the 7s movement, 39mm case with a coin edge bezel. It is a limited production item but it comes up once in a while on the Watch sales forums.This has been affordably priced but still a little over my budget. At 39mm it is also a little small for my wrist, at least being a pilot type watch. So I decided to make my own, similar in overall design but denitely different and one of a kind. This could be a watch dedicated to The Frecce Tricolori, (Italian, literally Tricolour Arrows), officially known as the 313¡ã Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico, is the aerobatic demonstration team of the Italian Aeronautica Militare based by my original home town.For the base watch I chose the Seiko SARZ005 because it is about 42 mm and larger then most regular Seiko watches. Thoughts on the new Bond Semaster 300 Master Co-Axial
Looks like a pretty amazing piece - great movement with some cool nods to the past like the lollipop second hand, and gotta say, when I first saw the 12 hour graduated bezel, was not sure - but its like a pseudo GMT watch minus the extra hand with the bi-direction bezel. Also, love the NATO - while I think Omega NATO's are overpriced, they are much nicer than the $15 dollar ones on the net - which I still use and love.And, first time the exact watch by Omega worn on screen will be sold to the public - I think this is a winner.

New (to me) Seamaster 2221.80
A few weeks ago I bought the original Bond quartz Seamaster 2541.80 off Craigslist at a good price. It is an older model with tritium dial and hands.I loved the size, feel etc and kept researching more. I came across the 2221.80 and knew I had to have it. I loved the red lettering, longer hands and applied markers and Omega logo. The prevailing price seemed to be around $1300-$1500. Got lucky and found a Craigslist seller that had one mint with upgraded gift box, book, links etc.I met last night and the watch was as pictured by the seller. The seller also had the Omega rubber strap # 98000085 with attached buckle in unused condition ( which ofrei sells for over $300). He threw it in with the deal....$1250 out the door.The luminosity on this 2221.80 is insane. Woke up at 6:30 am and it was still glowing brighter then my Rolex Yachtmaster.Thrilled with this watch, and the rubber strap was an unknown bonus...I was meeting him with the $1250 price agreed on and I got the Omega stra
