Jaeger LeCoultre diamonds and sapphire wrist watches news:
Cartier’s in-house genius Carole Forestier takes a highly original approach to combating the effects of gravity on timekeeping. In a nutshell – quoting Cartier – “the escapement, the oscillator and the pendular seconds have been positioned on the rotor…”. Warning: trying to visualize an escapement mounted on a rotor may cause pain in the visual cortex. Let’s see how it was done…The Astror¨¦gulateur movement – Caliber 9800 MC – has been five years in the making and it is the object of four patent applications. The movement has been designed, developed, produced and assembled entirely within the Cartier Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds.Watchmakers have long studied means to compensate for the effects of gravity on the balance spring; the tourbillon is perhaps the best-known mechanical countermeasure. The tourbillon carriage revolves on its own axis, typically in one minute, averaging out the errors and so canceling variations in
Hublot extends ceramic even further by releasing the first high-end watch with red ceramic. Red is now added to white, black, blue, brown, and gray which are used in more and more watches each year as ceramic's popularity increases. Hublot isn't new to taking the lead when it comes to novel materials. In the past we have seen them create special combinations of materials: for King Gold a mixture of copper and platinum is used to stabilize and colorize the precious metal while to create the?highly scratch resistant?Magic Gold an alloy of pure gold and ceramics had been invented. They also released the first red-tinted sapphire crystal in a timepiece. For Only Watch?Auction,?Hublot?wanted to add a unique flair to a material that has been becoming ubiquitous in the entire industry in line with the red theme color of the charity auction.Used for the bezel, this new bright red ceramic is straight from the foundries and R&D dungeons of the manufacture. The brand premieres it with its one
Hey everyone. While doing my usual browsing the web looking at watches I stumbled across the "khaki scuba king" H64515337 W/ the black rubber strap w/ red stitching. Man is that a beauty or what. It reminds me of a Serket, which I've wanted for awhile, but just cant swing the $ right now. With a 2834 movement, sapphire crystal, screw down crown. day date.I currently dont have a watch with a rubber strap and have wanted one. The red stiching is a bonus. I've seen them going for around $500 online (which is a good price) but a few forum members have said they got them for a little over $300. So my question is : WHERE? If anyone has a lead on where to find one at a great price like that, I would greatly appreciate it. A post or PM maybe. I've been very happy with my "khaki aviator tachymiler" so this would be a great addition to my collection. and if anyone own's one, does this model have the "hamilton" engraved on the side of the case? Not a big fan of that. Thanks guys , Kurt
I got a hold of this one a couple of weeks ago, after they were officially released by Seiko in Japan on July 9th. Here is the link to the unveiling:thewatchsite/index.php/topic,5902.0.htmlAnd some fresh wrist shots from this morning. I am loving this 21st century throwback to Seiko multi function digital dress watches of the 70s and 80s....I think this is a fantastic traveling watch. In addition to radio control sync (USA, UK, Germany and Japan), the watch is solar (11 months power reserve), has a fantastic digital display (With 7 levels of contrast, btw), world time for 32 cities, 3 alarms, 10 hours chronograph, 10 hours count down timer, automatic and on demand radio sync reception, day/date display, dual world time display. One of the aspects I love about this watch is the fact that the time remains visible no matter what mode you are on. Each time zone has offset DST time settings and it also takes into accounts time zones that are only +30 minutes ahead like India. The negative dis
I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on pricing and availability of existing Rolex sport watches in the months after Basel?(Like the Daytona C, Hulk and the BLNR) Will prices come down on older references since there may be New and trendy references released that get all the attention? Will people see new references and want to sell their existing ones to get the latest and greatest? What has history shown or what do you think will happen?
