Need Advice:New Hamilton Owner
I just bought a Hamilton "automatic chronograph" yesterday from a local jewlerly store. It was used, purchased by the store from an estate sale. This is my first mechanical watch and was perchased as gift to myself for graduating college. I really wanted to get a watch that would last me through my career. I was drawn to it by the traditional look, and the fact that it contained swiss movement. Have little knowlege about these watches, their reputation, or the service/care needed for them, I wanted to post on here to get some feedback from those of you who know vastly more than I. Please just give some general information about this watch, your opinion of it, and any "need to knows" that you are willing to share. Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.==Matt

Oris TT1 Diver
Hi Folks-I got the Oris Diver TT1 two days ago.. Out of the box, it is running +2-3 secs a day.. Chronometer like accuracy.. Great looking watch and I love it..Question: Do any of you know how to size the rubber strap in the watch ? Do I need special tools and go to the retail store ?Thanks

set this watch up and its now on the winder. getting the moonphase to the right postion required the movement specs for the 7751, luckily eta has every movement in pdf format if you know where to look, so I downloaded them all. for the money, this ended up being a pretty fine dress watch. its a small company that makes nice watches. actually its a one man show.

Just wondering what most people's thoughts are on this piece. The majority of the opinions I've read so far have been mostly negative but I wonder how many have actually seen it in the flesh (I haven't). I'm strangely drawn to it, especially the dial. I also respect the work that must go into the bracelet and polishing of the overall piece.Opinions?

Ceramic Coating
Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but I've been thinking of experimenting with a nano ceramic coating to apply to some of my ss datejust watches to help avoid scratches. I have had ceramic coating applied to some of my cars and it really cuts down on swirl marks and scratches from regular washing. It hit me today as I was sitting at my desk, why not apply it to the clasp of the oyster bracelet and see what it does. I'm no chemist, but does anyone have any background with chemistry to talk me out of trying it?
