Ikepod Solaris Watches: New Direction For Marc Newson
Ikepod is designer Marc Newson's quirky but cool watch brand. From its inception, most of his watches shared the same round bulbous look and had model names like "Hemipode." The watches are very cool and very hard to come by with extremely limited distribution (only two authorized dealers in the US). Despite their rarity, Ikepod watches have always intrigued me and looked like they enjoyed more than niche product appeal. Further, their modern looks being minimalist and all, are still very functional, with some of the existing models offering very complex features.Well, Marc has taken a completely new direction with the new Solaris lines of watch. Not only is the shape of the watch case square, but the overall theme of the watch is totally different. Rather than a soft futuristic look, the Solaris watches are retro chic. new folio!
i just bought a folio automatic today . i got a good deal cuz it was on clearance for $60! but i have never seen this movement before, its a very small 23 jewel Chinese auto with a big date and an open heart dial. the markings say F0101/250807 and ilike i said its TINY!!!ill try and get a pic later. does anyone know what kind of movement is in it?

You can pay the bouncer at a club to bypass the line. You can pay at a restaurant to get a table immediately. You can pay to avoid standing in line for rides at DisneyWorld.You can pay to drive in express lanes to get somewhere faster.Now, the latter two are more official than the former two. But the point is you can pay a business/person to get things faster in different areas of life.Has anyone paid someone at an AD to bypass the list for a hot watch?

So happy to finally get my first new Rolex. I inherited a 1984 16030 ¡®Buckley¡¯ dial Datejust and bought a 1983 6694 Oysterdate, and then thought long about getting a vintage 5513 Sub, but after trying the new Sub-C at a local AD, made the jump with no regrets!Ps: wanted to post a pic but apparently I need to make 10 posts firsts.(Bought it on 12-Feb to wear on the first day of Chinese New Year 16-Feb!)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
