I see alot of re-dials done in gloss. Do you believe this reflects personal taste, or correcty factory restoration? Were hamilton dials originally gloss and just slowly aged to flat?

I have been trying hard to have date shots but i found it to be quite challenging ( well, that's the word my management mentor tell me instead of "very difficult" ) however, i think the "date" part of a watch could be one of a good reason to like / dislike a watch , or even support a decision to purchase..so please post your best date shot and forgive my trial shots,,,,, i really wish i can learn this one is difficult...this one is worst...

5712r or AP 15400OR?
Hi guys,So I'm thinking of making another big purchase early next year so I'm taking the time to do as much research as possible, the thrill of the hunt is actually 70% of the fun of the whole thing for me.Anyway, what's your opinion on the following?The pros of the AP are it's a full gold bracelet but the Patek is a superior movement IMO.I'm slightly leaning towards the Patek because I have an all gold watch in the Sky-Dweller. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.Thanks all!PS: I looked at the 15202 but I don't see the hype and can't justify the price difference with regard to the 15400. The movement seems to have more historical significance as opposed to being superior in itself, if anyone can correct me on this I'm all ears.

Is there anyway to tell what year your movement/case was produced? I know Patek has the information in their books..and will give it to you for CHF 100...Obviously you can narrow the years down to when they made a watch, and any changes within line, but is there a way to figure out the birthday of your watch without payig for the history of the watch?I couldn't find an answer from a quick search.Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend
