It's been a while since we last had an Alpina watch in for review, and much has changed at the brand since. Our previous encounter was with the Alpina Startimer Pilot Manufacture. I liked just about everything about it, especially the manufacture movement within and modest price tag, but had one gripe¡­ it just didn't feel like an original design. For everything it had going for, this one aspect just kind of undermined it. It seemed odd to me that brand with manufacture capabilities as well as a rich history and archive, would make something derivative.Well, they seemed to have caught on as at the last two Basels they've begun to push their new Alpiner line, which draws inspiration from within. There are now many models within this series, such as their modern 4-line, which utilize their in-house GMT complication as well as in-house Flyback chronograph, and their vintage inspired models. It's the latter we'll be taking a look at today with the somewhat dryly titled Alpina Alpiner Chrono

In case you haven't heard, Longines is celebrating their 180th anniversary this year, and they have released a special collection to celebrate. A highlight for us is the limited edition Single Push-Piece Chronograph, which is an awesome vintage-inspired column-wheel, mono-pusher chronograph.Longines has a rich history in producing great chronographs, and this piece is no exception. The limited edition Single Push-Piece (Ref. L2.774.8.23.x) has a 40mm 18k rose gold case that houses a Longines Calibre L788.2, developed with ETA (who call it the A08.261). The case has rounded sides and wears really nicely on the wrist. Hey guys, just purchased a Longines Presence L47204112 off the net.It looks great but, I just discovered that the wordings behind the strap differs from that of my friend's. He has the small watch as me :OBeside the "CUIR VERITABLE" and "LONGINES" logo , theres this "18" on it.additionally, theres a serial number behind the strap , L682100662. I'm seriously worried that I might have gotten a "replica" Longines watch.Anyone can verify whether is this normal :O Warranty card/booklet are all present.thanks in advance

With these 3 I think I have all situations covered. (1) DD2 for M-F with suit for work(2) DSSD for every day tool, swimming, vacation watch(3) 44mm RG ROO for going out at night and special eventsOr switch between the AP and a YG GMTIIc...either way I think I am done....for now :-)
