Longines oposition help....
Hello all,i joined the forum as i want to start a collection of Longines watches. I recently aquired a Longines Oposition Chronograph watch with a quartz L541 movement. I apologise for my ignorance but the hands on the watch do not move, that is to say it does not display the correct time.I can set the time by pulling the crown into the 3rd position then turn the crown to set the hands at the correct time then press the crown in fully how ever the hours, mins and secs hands will not move / progress to display the correct time. The battery i assume is good as I can press what is described as button A and the chrono seconds hand moves, press button A and the hand stops, press button B and the chrono seconds hand will sweep round to the 12 o'clock / zero seconds position along with the 1/10th second hand.is there a putton press combination in order that the watch will then be in a 'normal' time mode?i did make an attempt to search the Longines website for assistance however the online hel

Looking for an automatic watch winder
I recently bought my first mechanical watch and while i really like it, its a little annoying having to rewind it if I go a day without wearing it. I would like a winder with at least two spots since I will probably end up buy another mechanical watch in the future. I was just wondering how much I should be expecting to pay and if there's a particular brand that is popular among the forum. A sales lady showed me one that was $195 or something and that's just too expensive for me.

manually winding new Khaki Field Automatic?
I recently purchased a Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic (H7-685387). I asked the salesperson if I needed to wind the watch any. He asked if I'd wear it most every day (yes), and if I would wear it while I slept (no). He said to wind it 40 times after I bought it, then said I might want to wind it maybe 10-15 turns every 3 or 4 days, just to be safe.Does that sound like good advice? I have a desk job - lots of computer time, and will not be playing handball while wearing the watch (that's a joke....I won't have an unusually high "wrist turning" activity rate).I'm still reading and trying to learn more about accuracy - I realize my main purpose for buying the watch is because of the mechanical wonder it is (and this model's styling). Again, just wondering about the wind it twice a week advice. I've had the a few weeks - seems to be +8 seconds per day. I've given it 10 turns on Saturdays and Tuesdays.Thanks in advance.

Don't need a Patek but I want one ... Which one to get
So I'm 30 years old and I own a speedy pro that I wear on weekends and some evenings. I have a Non date sub that I wear to work ( as a doctor) and to meetings and things. I have a Reverso 976 with a white dial and leather strap as a dress watch. I thought I didn't need another watch but the Patek brand calls to me. I guess I have it engraved in my mind that I must own a patek someday. Its probably due to marketing ( and I'm a sucker for marketing)My query is - if I was to get a patek which one should I get and should I get is sooner or later? I want to have a iconic model. It was easy with the other brands as they all have one iconic piece that they are known for. It's not that easy with Patek. The Calatrava is obviously the easy choice and I love the 5227. I tried one on and it suited me well, but I couldn't think of when I would wear it. The nautilus has been in my mind since I was about 16. I iconic design but I think I have two good sports watches and I guess I don't need another.
