Longines L4.874.3.37.7 wrist watches news:
Today I got a call from the friendly folks down at Beauchamp Jewelers.I had asked if I could have an opportunity to see the new Explorer II watches before they had a chance to bolt out the door on some buyer's wrist.I was having lunch at the time and they needed to get them checked in and whatnot, so I went and bowled a couple of practice games and then drove over to the shop. There as promised the watchmaker emerged from the back with two caskets, one bearing the white dial model and the other bearing the black dial model.I've been a little critical of the new styling with the broad hands and the orange 24-hour hand, but I've held back on final judgement until I could inspect them personally and put them on my wrist or wrists in this case.I have to say, albeit a little late, the new Explorer II watches get the coveted GradyPhilpott seal of approval. They are stunning watches. They do not overpower the wrist, or at least my wrist, and the hands from a normal perspective don't look like
"Our 6th Annual Tampa GTG will be on SAT, October 29th 2011"...as many of you know, we have started a trend in 2006 that brought many WIS from all around the world even closer. Some guys just jump in the car and get there, but many have boarded the planes or crossed the oceans !Not that GTG’s are something new, but I think that back in 2006 we started something very special. Something that brings this great watch enthusiasts community even closer and something that is actually ‘way’ beyond watches. I am glad that watches are our hobby ! Because of them we have met many great people that we are proud to call close friends now !What started innocently in fall of 2006 something that is now slowly but surely becoming a tradition. By now we've had 5 nice autumn meetings in Tampa and 4 in spring that took place in New York City. In-between these larger events, several of us met in Las Vegas, London or Basel, but somewhat the FALL/TPA and SPRING /NYC meetings that are 6 mont
hi guys,i am new here. but i am a watch lover. i love to search for new watches everyday. hope to have a great journey with all watch lovers here.:)
Longines makes such classic looks, but if you had to choose a favorite would you rather a Longines watch with a square or round face? Also, what's your strap preference? In all honesty, there's no wrong answer.
I am a little confused by the dial colour options of the 5140G. I am seeing them advertised with a silver dial and an opaline white dial. From what I can see the model started out with a silver dial which must, at some point, have changed to the current white dial. However, I don't detect any changes in the reference sub-number (if they have a sub-number at all they all seem to be 5140G-001). Can anyone cast any light on whether there was a change, if so when it happened, and whether there should be different reference numbers ?As a PS, has there ever been a 5140P with a white dial ?
