Vintage Watch Servicing....
Greetings Everyone!As a relative "newbie" in watches, esp. vintage watches, I am wondering how often a vintage watch should be brought in for servicing, timing etc.I have a Sidney and soon to arrive Dexter ( courtesy of HandyDan ! ) and want to know if the service intervals are different then their more modern counterparts, say 3-5 years. BTWI baby all my watches, even my Boschett Diver...never seen water...cept for a light rain lol!BestBob

I did search however didn't find what I was looking. So here is questions for you watch collectors/strap collectors. A lil but t about what I collect.Vintage Hamilton Vintage bulovaVintage Elgin Modern dive watches (omega smp 300/seiko monsters / helix Swiss Quartz / Invicta pro diver and grand diver; I've modded a few prodivers )Modern pilot watches (Hamilton 44mm with 6497/ I've put together three pilot style watches / Hamilton times 2 khaki)What I would is the opinion of the folks here at wtf on matching straps to watches . Example When to put a dark blue strap on watch taking into consideration the case material / dial color and so forth All of my military/field watches have the tan leather straps I would like to change it up but I'm thinking once u put a dressing watch strap on now it becomes a dress watch. I just put together a caravelle pocket watch dial/ movement Unitas 6498 I put a solid black strap and it looked good however I just put a blue strap on it and man I think it l

Incoming - Finally got my first AP! - 2017 RELEASE
Hi everyone,After lurking for a while and dreaming about this watch I finally pulled the trigger. I never thought I would like an AP until I held one in my hands and tried it on, it just blew me away. I love my Rolex's but AP is different. Every few months or so I run into one at a boutique or dealer and it just hurts trying them on since I wanted one so bad. First I wanted a white (or silver?) one because it is the first one I ever tried on and I love white watches. Then I was feeling for the black one because of the contrast to the markers and the depth of the dial. The white gold on a dark dial just pops. When I went another time to a dealer they only had a two-tone, I loved that as well, great play of metals and really complements the dial.Here's a bonus picture of a Rose Gold Jumbo - AMAZING watch!Of course, when they brought out a blue from the back when I was in Vegas that looked great as well, the boutique blue iconic color. Was it going to be this one??...but then something ha
