Girard-Perregaux has added a Perpetual Calendar to its classically-styled 1966 collection. The 40mm case houses in-house caliber GP033Q0 with 288 components. The caliber uses the Manufacture’s exclusive Microvar variable inertia balance, which is visible through the watch’s transparent case-back. The Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection is named in honor of the Neuchatel Observatory’s Centenary Prize, awarded to the Manufacture in 1966 for its achievements in the field of chronometry. This timepiece features a slightly domed dial with a classic symmetrical layout. Delicate gold leaf-shaped hands indicate the hours and minutes while blued hands mark the day, date and month. COSC - Worth the money?
COSC watches generally have the highest grade ETA movements and are a standard of quality - at least that's the presumption. We certainly can rest assured they've been throughly tested.But they also carry a hefty premium. Do you think it's worth it?

Can anybody enlighten me on the Chronostop?
Greetings TRF,The title pretty much says it all, I've been looking at Chronostop's for a little while now and was wondering what could be said about them. Fear not, I'm not going to ask you if I should go for it or the price I should pay for one...I have been thinking about a stainless steel chronograph for some time and a single pusher model would always be interesting to me, surely it would stand out in a collection (especially given the fact that all the chronograph's I've owned thus far were regular two pushers models). I know its dial is very simple and perhaps not very convenient given the complication it has but I really like it (whether we're talking about the regular one or the driver one). I know some come with tachymeters or diving bezels but the very simple one is the one I happened to see more.What I want to know is if anybody has some information on the model itself. RSC Dallas or Independent?
On the fence here. Need to send my U serial 16570 Polar in for a service. Generally will not do polish/refinish, just the movement. My guy who I have used before and trust quoted me $575 for the movement overhaul and 2 year warranty. He is only 120 miles from me, so I can drop off and pick up which saves the cost and hassle of shipping.In the past this would be a no brainer, but the forum has me guessing a little as so many seem to support using RSC.Watch is really only worth $3-4K so once this is done I will have much more into her than she is worth.Curious as to what others might chose.
