Longines L42594126 wrist watches news:
I have three Rolexes, one is a new GMT bought in December 08. I have previously had GMTs from Omega and TAG.The 24 hour hand on the Rolex did not align with the hour indicator when the minute hand was at 1200. There was a good 2-1/2 minutes delay before the 24 hour hand was exactly in line with the hour marker. The watch has been back to the AD three times and to the factory for adjustment. There is still some misaglinment, about 1 minute between the hours of 1200 and 2400 on the 24 hour hand. Going "down" the dial from 2400 to 1200 there does not seem to be any misalignment. I could not see that either my Omega or TAG had the same problem.Has anyone else experienced this?Rgds,
Speedmaster triple date 3520.50.00 - I will post pics when I receive it.
Some time ago, I posted pictures of a Laco Flieger (the one with the Miyota movement). It's a great watch & a fantastic introduction to German watches. Well, some time has passed & I've flipped that beautiful watch to help pay for this stunner:It's powered by an ETA 2824 which is an automatic which hacks & can be hand-wound too. It has a curved or "domed" saphire crystal & a bead-blasted steel case that is very well constructed. As terriffic as my Miyota-powered Laco was (& I'd highly reccommend it), this b-uhr dialed ETA powered watch is on another level!
My Hamilton Sutton arrived this morning. Here is a little slideshow to introduce him to you. Just click on the image to start the show.Cool features are the tubular lugs and the track border around the seconds sub-dial. Guess what? You can hear it tick.
Just found a driving clock that I really really liked at a nearly-new/used sale, and a quick Google Search yields me only this picture: doxawatches/detail_pages/8d_sm_02.jpgIt's pretty beat up inside (although the crystal looks pretty reasonable and it still winds). Is it worth the $75 (which apparently it was appraised at much higher, and I trust them, it's a charity sale for a hospital nearby. Also, I got a non-working Bulova Accutron rectangular gold watch (looks like its from the 50s/60s) for 50c. Is it worth the money to get either of these repaired/refurbished?- especially the driving clock, is it any good to get it maybe made into a pocketwatch?
