Longines L2.631.4.70.3 wrist watches news:
I purchased my first real watch when I was 22 years old. It was a Rolex Submariner bought with money I won in Las Vegas from a longer-than-usual run at the craps table. Little did I know, that would be the start of a passion (watches, not gambling) that now spans close to thirty years. During this journey, I have added and subtracted multiple timepieces to and from my watch box, as well as encountered many other ardent watch lovers, some with truly amazing collections. Truth is, watch collectors are a peculiar group, and those who do not suffer from the "watch bug" have a difficult time understanding our perplexing and often expensive addiction. While some even refer to watch collecting as an affliction, at the heart of it is the need to satisfy some of the most essential human conditions: the thirst for knowledge, the hunger for love, and the oft desire to be transported to a different place and, well, a different time.In order to delve deeper into the psyche of a serious collector, I
This year’s Bonhams vintage car auction at the Goodwood Revival features a selection of fantastic memorabilia, vehicles, and a fantastic selection of vintage watches with some sort of relation to cars. The group (lots 60-77) feature makers such as Omega, Girard Perregaux, Corum, and of course, Heuer. Below we have picked a few of our favorites. The auction takes place this Saturday, September 12th. Lot 66 ¨C Stainless Steel Calendar Chronograph Heuer Carrera 45 Dato, Reference 3147N, 1967 1 OF 8 This stainless steel manual-winding chronograph from 1967 is part of the first series of the Carrera reference 3147. This model features the date aperture at noon, red numerals, and two subsidiary dial configuration also seen in the Carrera 45. This series was in production for only one year. The movement of this piece is the Landeron caliber 189 manual-winding movement, signed Heuer-Leonidas SA. The screw-down case back is the same case style used from 1964-1970 with
I picked up an old Helvetia with the 830 movement but the movement appears to be made of copper. I have never seen this before nor would I think of copper as a material to make movements. DSCF1079a.jpg Any thoughts or info available?

Hi All,I'm having a difficult time trying to choose between a PAM 372 and a PAM 183. I am well aware that these are two very different watches and in different price points. I currently own a Rolex Deep Sea and an IWC Portuguese 7 Day (5001). I used to own a PAM 177 (ti) but sold it to fund the purchase of my IWC. Not soon after, I realized I need a Panerai to complete my humble collection.I think the 372 is a beautiful piece but not as versatile as the 183 due to it's size and style. I am not so concerned about the technical aspects of the watches but more on the aesthetics. That said, I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on this matter.
