Longines L4.821.4.15.2 wrist watches news:
HiI'm a new member of WTF and a very new, inexperienced watch collector (of both vintage ladies' and smaller men's watches). I don't know much about watches yet, but am trying to learnand this forum is a great resource!Recently my dad found this Seamaster among his things, and asked me to see if I could get some information about it. He believes he acquired it new sometime in the 1960s.I apologize for the poor quality of the photos (I took them with a hand-held compact camera, before reading the advice in the forums about lighting and using a tripod!) And unfortunately, there are no photos of the movement because I don't yet know how to properly open a watchand don't want to experiment on his! Any information that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated!Susan
Can someone tell me if there is any significance to the placement of the names of locations on the bezel of world timer watches, specifically the Seiko Coutura? For example, London/GMT are at 12:00, Cairo is at 1:00, and Los Angeles is at 8:00.When it is 12:00 in London, it is not 1:00 in Cairo, nor is it 8:00 in L.A. (that was my first guess as to the placement, but obviously that's not it.)Any insight will be appreciated!
The last several days, I've been having some weirdness with Tapatalk and WTF. The Unread tab of the Latest section frequently comes up blank, or with only a few threads showing. This is new behavior, and happens both on my iPad and iPhone, but only here on WTF.So, I'm wondering if any other Tapatalk users here are seeing this?I know John said that once the new WTF mobile app comes out, Tapatalk support will be phased out. And perhaps that's starting already in the process of developing the new app.?
Hi all,I'm not a collector, but am thinking about a new watch. Can dealers negoiate on brands such as Tissot and Movado, or are they locked in by the makers? If they do have room, can they get close to internet prices?
Picked this up Sunday (thanks Mike). Traded in Schumi (which I still love), but can't keep them all. I wish AP would make the rubber strap for this one (it appears the blue strap on the new 42mm Navy would work perfectly due to the darker color blue, but need AP to make it for the 44mms).PS--thanks to Martin and Hamish for the input on this piece!
