Newb Needs help with an older Omega that just stopped working today...Pix
It just stopped this morning at 8:45am California time. The movement inside says:Omega Watch co Swiss 1002. I have been calling around this morning and the guy at .Magnums located in New York says it is valued at $10,000 USD without the Gold the Gold Bracelet and that it would be $500-600 USD to repair. I had no idea it was worth that much. Is it really?Couple of quik Questions.1. Can anyone suggest a repair shop?2. The Bezel is plastic and the GOld Colored round piece that secures it is not gold. My father said he had sent it out to a local repair shop who sent it to another repair shop and he never noticed if the origional was Crystal and if the surround was actual gold. Should this piece be Gold or Gold colored and should it be Crystal or Plastic?3. Can anyone help me date the watch with the information I have given above?4. Lastly, it does have 2ea. Gold Stamps in the back outside of the watch and also on the side of the case. Inside the case it has a serial number. Is it ok to pos

WTF went on a diet.
Well, Watch Talk Forums lost some weight today. Does everyone feel leaner and less encumbered? It might take a little getting used to, but it's a good change IMO. Threads that I would never have noticed before because I never visited that brand's forum are getting some attention. Might be bad for my wallet though. How are you guys and gals liking the new set-up?

Any guidance on limits for the 50m rating on RO's
Hi All, I can't help myself, I love the Royal Oak. It is also such an icon for a steel sport watch. Comfy and looks great. But I am little bothered by a depth rating of only 50m on a sport watch. Come on AP! An icon of watch making, why cant they make their flagship sport watch 100m? Many other brands can and in a case that is just as thin. A bit frustrating, as I live near the beach and like to swim in my watches. I am not trying to insult any buyers or the brand. I still hope to have one one day. So with that said, does anyone have any guidance on how careful one must be with the 50m rating on AP's? Anyone have any water issues?Thanks.

Advice needed.
I need your advice on here, I want to either buy a Rolex Datejust 116234 or and Explorer 2 16570. I can only afford the one watch, but like both very much. The Datejust will obviously be the newer watch out of the two, but the Explorer will properly gain value better.
