Maurice Lacroix FA2164-SS002-170 wrist watches news:
I love this stuff. It seems as though most all inventors at one point in their life just have to create some method of displaying the time. They can't call them 'clocks' either, that would be too...routine. Here we have a fascinating clock that was donated to Cambridge University in England by successful inventor John C. Taylor, who himself attended Cambridge in the 1950s. He refers to it as a "Chronophage" (something that 'eats' time), and named it the "Corpus Clock." This is likely do to the fact that it will be placed at the Corpus Christi College at Cambridge.Taylor has had a privileged life no doubt aided by his inherent talent and skills. Although this amount seems high, you have to take into consideration the budgets involved when Swiss watch m
Thought I'd ask if some of you guys wouldn't mind weighing in on a question I've asked on the Omega side, in case that's not part of your regular route. COSC is short for Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres, which translates to Official Swiss Chronometer Control. Founded in 1973, it is the conglomeration of several formerly independent testing agencies. The Director's headquarters is in La Chaux-de-Fonds and the testing offices are located in Bienne, Geneva, and Le Loche. If you own a COSC certified watch you probably have seen the paperwork that came with it but may have questions about it's meaning. For demonstration purposes we'll use the certificate from an ETA 2892 that's powering a Tiffany's Mark stainless steel Coupe model: Let's take a look at what it all means. At the top left is the certificate number [10670108] and to the right is this particular movement's serial number [7403]. Underneath the certificate number is the movement's category [1] meaning it is a spring balance oscillating caliber larger than 20 mm in diameter and greater than 314 square mm in total surface area. The categories are explained on the
Hi. My Aquanaut has been losing 6 seconds a day over the past 2 months. I have tried putting it in various positions when its not on my wrist (crown up, crown down, face up, face down...etc). I was planning on going to Henri Stern on Monday to see if they can either take the watch to fix this or am I being overly demanding? Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks
