Exciting Incoming- Laptimer
Out of the blue last week I decided I was ready to try a concept AP. I was pretty dead set on one of the toubillon pieces. After a few phone calls with Paul and some much needed enabling, I sent a random text in regards to the Laptimer. Neither of us thought it was even an option, but the response to my text indicated that one was sitting in the safe as another client had backed out. It had just come in and would be the only one this AD would receive. What were the chances of that?The piece came on Wednesday and after spending some quality time with it this weekend in Chicago watching the Cubs lose, I am excited to present the AP Laptimer!Thanks to Paul for always pushing me into decisions I shouldn't make ;)

Is this PP Tourbillon real or fake?
I've been sent a picture of a friend who met someone wearing a PP Tourbillon, or at least what he claims to be a Tourbillon.If it is real of course, I'd love to know what the model is and learn a little more about it.Could some of the wiser heads advice what they think?I think the watch just doesn't look right.376887_10152056815125088_1607777106_n.jpg

What's in a name- Henri, Philippe, or Thierry?
I found the recent post regarding the Geneva seal vs the PP seal quite interesting and one commentary in particular caught my attention. Subtona raised the question as to whether the traditional Geneva seal might some day be of added interest to collectors. To be honest, I don't know whether his comments were sincere or facetious, but I'll assume the former.Expanding on that concept I wondered whether the watches produced under Henri Stern's stewardship might be similarly valued differently from those of his son Philippe, or grandson Thierry. For me the best days of Patek Philippe were under the reign of Henri until 1992-3 when he turned control to his son Philippe, who in turn passed control to his son Thierry in 2009.My first Patek was purchased in 1992 (certificate signed by Henri) and my more recent purchases have certificates signed by either Philippe or Thierry. My personal preference for Patek Philippe watches has always been their traditional dress watches, which many would de

Some things that bother me about the nautilus
I adore the nautilus. I have never owned one but I am thinking about it. First thing that bothers me about the watch is the shape of the dial. IMO its not perfect. If you look at the 10-11 hour indices the dial, case and crystal is slightly angular. Same thing for the other three corners. Now, this appears to be a consious decision but I just dont understand why. Would it not be better if there was no angles and it was a smooth curve? What do you think?Second thing is the clasp of the bracelet. It seems to be a bit thin and looks like it would open while wearing. I am not saying the whole bracelet will open but that little flap with the calatrava. IMO if it opens even once in a week thats too much. Did you have any problems with the clasp?
