Maurice Lacroix lc1113-sd502-170 wrist watches news:
I often read about some members getting "compliments" on their watches. This has happened to me ,perhaps, three times in 25 years and, each time, it was from someone who was familiar with watches.Today I wore 2 watches. One was the Omega Planet Ocean (orange bezel) which IMHO is a beautiful timepiece but not a real attention grabber among the non-WIS community. The other was a nice looking CF dial chrono. The CF dial really jumps out ,nearly to the point of overpowering the rest of the dial.It dawned on me that 90% of my collection was very traditional as far as watch design is concerned and that may be why I get few comments. (which I prefer)Upon looking at the other 10% I saw that they were the Big,MOP,CF dials,or odd shaped that ,although pretty, were not something that I view as a major factor in buying a watch. They are more jewelry ingredients than watch design to me.I suppose that I am an old school watch guy who enjoys his watches as timepieces over jewelry.
Hello and good day to all my fellow watch enthusiast out there. Today I present to you my new baby. After much thought and a lot of back and forth in my mind I traded up and sealed the deal a Pre-loved AP Diver 15703ST. I am still getting used to the size and all but overall I love this amazing piece of art. It's my first AP so in sure all the excitement and feeling like a kid at the candy store was something you all experienced. Thank you Just a heads up. The iPhone 6 Plus takes great photos but it is big so it's hard to hold steady and take the shot. Some might be fuzzy so I shook on all of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So I'm looking to add to my collection and have narrowed the search down to a few AP's.My collection currently consists of the AP Diver, Rolex Deep Sea, SS Daytona with the black dial and a IWC Portuguese ChronoI have narrowed my search down to the following AP's:- RO Chronograph w/ Panda Dial- RO 15400 SS w/ silver dial- ROO Safari- ROO PandaOf these four, which would you guys choose and which watch do you think would be the most timeless. Thanks for the time.
I know there has been other members including myself that at first glance thought that the new Root Beer Bezel looked like a Coke. What if just maybe this was Rolex's best attempt at making a Coke bezel or what if the red/black combo in ceramic is not possible? Traditionally the Root Beer was been a Gold and Brown bezel or solid brown bezel. We know how difficult it is with developing colors on the monoblock single piece ceramic bezel. For instance, the best Rolex could develop the Pepsi was the cranberry/grape color. I have also read that only 1 out of 10 Pepsi bezels are used for it's watches since the process is so difficult. So maybe the root beer bezel was Rolex best attempt at the Red/Black combination but salvaged the bezel by turning it into the root beer.
See for yourself... Check the width of the outer links compared to the inner links in the Rolex teaser video and two other Jubilee bracelets. The ratio is different. What does this mean? To me, it seems that it could mean two things.1. The inner links are wider so the bracelet will be 21 or 22 mm wide.2. The outer links are less wide and the inner links are wider which will ensure a stronger center area which should reduce ability to stretch, but if you have felt a recent Jubilee, they are very sturdy. Not anything like the old ones. The outer link to inner link width ratio is definitely different.Attached is a photo to show what I'm talking about. Check it out. What could this mean?
