Maurice Lacroix lc6017-ss002-130 wrist watches news:
Basel prognostications begin as early as January and start in earnest in February. One of the most discussed brands, of course, is Rolex. A quick browse of Rolex forums brings out multitudes of hypotheses about what the giant will release at the show and, then, a month or so later, the actual news is almost universally met with disappointment. While some of the hoped-for watches are plausible, I¡¯ve seen some fairly wild ones alongside creative photoshopped images. One imaginative idea that I remember distinctly was of a Submariner chronograph or, perhaps, a Daytona diver. In actuality, the idea is not so far-fetched as there are plenty of diving chronographs and why wouldn¡¯t Rolex, who is apt in making both styles of watch, wander down that conjoined path? Well, who knows the answer to that question, but I do at least come with a semi-plausible solution. That solution, readers, is the subject of today¡¯s #TBT and comes in the form of the surprising, yet highly credible Fortis Marinemast
When did Rolex stop maiking "pinholes" in the sides of the case??(The 4 x holes in the body / case of the watch, where the braclet is attached)From what year?
I went a bit overboard on my latest project. I have been working on this one for three months now and it is all about to come together. I had it all together several months ago and decided that I did not like it so I started making changes. One thing led to another and then it was taken apart down to the bone. It was a size 0s 14k gold filled cushion case with a 15 jewel Elgin movement from 1911. I did not like the finish on the gold filled case after polishing so I sent it out to be completely stripped down to the bare metal and then re-plated in 14k gold along with the winding crown (very expensive). Next, I changed my mind when it came to the band. It had a 19mm Speidel Lizard grain band, leather band but the Lizard grain was embedded, not genuine. So, I ordered a real deal genuine Alligator band (restoration costs skyrocketing at this point). Next, I started second guessing the 15 jewel Elgin movement (274,000 made), nice movement but not exactly rare. So, I starting hunting for so
Hi guys,Thinking about adding a new watch to my collection. To be honest, bought a lot of PP recently so PP is the last one on my list. But the cheapest one :)1. Audemars Piguet GMT Concept Tourbillon (this exact reference)The price will be around 125,000 Euro. This would be my first ever tourbillon watch and a perfect one for that (as I think tourbillon is a movement looking better on a sports watch rather than PP with closed tourbillon or something like JLC with open tourbillon. Minute repeater is for more classical style watches, in my opinion of course. The size is good for my wrist as well.2. Richard Mille RM35 Nadal CarbonI do not have a Richard Mille & Skeleton so that would fit nice for me as well. The price will be around 80,000 Euros. Also the size is really good and this for me is really a good looking & sporty watch. Can't be sure about the price & also the availability though.3. Patek Philippe 5960P Black DialThe cheapest of all, will be around 55,000 Euro. Th
Got my Diver back from Clearwater yesterday. It was running fast so I decided to send it in. They were very courteous and the watch came back in about 3 weeks, pretty quick turnaround! I also had them refinish the watch and it looks like new. Not a scratch or mark anywhere!
