- I was looking for a watch that was autowind and came across this . I have had one in the past and was very pleased. I did not know they made an autowinder so I decided to give it a try. I am very happy with it. It's not overly gaudy looking and I have gotten several compliments.

Maurice Lacroix LC1227-SS002-330 wrist watches news:
Upon receipt of an Android Caprice Skeleton Auto the hour and minute hands were not synchronized. When the hour hand was pointing directly at the hour, the minute hand was between the 8 and the 9. I was informed by Android that they would charge me $15 (in addition to paying the return shipping) to honor the warranty. So, on a watch that was about $130, it cost me an additional $25 or so to get them to honor the warranty. If there is any question as to the accuracy of my description, I have a private message from Wing himself giving me this info.I will leave it to you to determine whether you consider this good customer service.UPDATE , I received a replacement and they didn't charge me the $15. That is the god. The "..."?. This one, while better regulated or synchronized than the first is also off - this time the minute hand is at the 5 to 10 minute mark when the hour hand is dead on. More updates to follow. I really do not want to pay shipping again.
I had a bit of a rant in the Longines forum about a Grand Vitesse that is on sale at 40% off - it's a great deal on a great watch, but I'm passing on it as I need to save more money for the big trip in October where hopefully I will come back with a new watch....(as evidenced by my earlier thread in the GDF about suggestions for a new watch).Well, glutton for punishment that I am, I couldn't resist going back to the store today, only to find they are also discounting TAGs as well - up to 40% on some models (a really nice auto Aquaracer - the one that Dennis likes the bezel). Unfortuately the Carrera is only 25% off, so I'm not tortured by walking away from it, but man, there were some nice TAGs at good discounts .The sales assistant revealed in the conversation that they are clearing out their TAGs and replacing them with a new brand "equal or better than TAG" but didn't know, or wouldn't say, what that brand will be.very mysterious. This leads me to wonder if this is part of TAGs strat
But only because once they're gone.they're gone. One of the local Tag ADs is not selling them anymore (Tag's new 'boutique' policy, like that of Omega, does not sit well with the parent company (Angus & Coote Jewellers in Sydney) so I believe they have pulled sales of Tag from all their stores, including the NZ owned chain. So, 40% off, and once gone, it's goodbye Tag for them.I've been trying to convince them to replace them with Oris, but it's a hard road..Anyway, this is what's left - thought you might like to see. There was a very nice Carrera that sat there for a while, but it's gone now (40% off a Tag Carrera, hard to pass up).I like the Aquaracer near the top left, but not really a big fan of the slate/grey dial.Remember - prices are in NZ$, e.g. $1000 NZD = $761 USD, to give you an idea of pricing. Not sure you can see the price tickets well in this pic anyway. The Aquaracer 500m Auto is about $1700 USD.
A young guy and his mother were in the store today buying stuff for his new apartment. Mom had on a Cartier, and he had on a mid-sized SMP. His parents got it for his graduation. First Omega sighting I've had in a while. Anybody else spot an interesting watch in the wild lately?
Would it be ok to get the Omega 2221.80 for every day wear on Wall Street? Or would it be smarter to get the 212.30 version? I'm just worried that the blue is not conservative enough. Sorry if some of you think that this is ridiculous but I am serious. I like both watches a lot but like the blue a touch more but I don't want to get it it may draw negative attention.
